Toasty Posted July 24, 2018 Posted July 24, 2018 (edited) Alpen, did the update screwed up the dynamic campaign too? I liked the idea of fly randomly and hit some ground targets without compromise with an exact goal. Edited July 24, 2018 by Toasty
comie1 Posted July 25, 2018 Posted July 25, 2018 Can't believe the last update has also screwed up the missions. It's an endless torture to mission designers, mate. It's a boring thing to do especially when talking about 10 missions. But as always, I do fix them and put them on Beta. Was busy over the last 2-3 days, is all. Aim-9M stays. We've discussed that many times already and that you know, so no worries. hey man missed your reply. The struggle is real... Sorry I forgot how much that shit can mess up the missions. I liked the idea of fly randomly and hit some ground targets without compromise with an exact goal. It was screwed up too, but I've fixed that. Currently the missions are running on the server. Soon the dynamic campaign will be back. HACA DYCA Discord Cold War 1947 - 1991 You can help me with keeping up the server via PayPal donations: hokumyounis@yahoo.com
Decibel dB Posted July 27, 2018 Posted July 27, 2018 (edited) Hi Alpen and congrats about your own sever. Since 2.5 I've been away from DCS until recent multiplayer improvement. I would like to point out that now that you have remove the moving map it is very difficult to get to know where you are on the map and what and where are the objective. I made a video to explain what I mean. I have spawned in Beslan but when I go on the map I can't see where is Beslan, as you can also see when I move or zoom on the map the grids, the lat's and long's and the names of the town are moving, that make it quite challenging to find the area of operation and targets. I think the issue with shifting names and grids on the map was reported. I don't have the issue and many others don't either. Probably you need to fix that yourself somehow. Not sure how to do it because I never had this probelm. The problem I have and maybe everyone else is the "hidden" airbases. Seems like occupied airbases are "deleted" on the map while airbases set to neutral are available still. As fas as I'm concerned, this is a bug ED needs to fix, or at least I was told so. animaal Posted July 30, 2018 Posted July 30, 2018 I joined DCS multiplayer last night for the first time in ages, but didn't notice this server. Every server I saw had modern planes, and I prefer to fly the older birds mostly. No point flying a Mig-15 against Hornets! If it takes time to spool up and take off, it's frustrating to be shot down by an enemy you can't see. Much better to lose a dogfight :) I look forward to checking out your server tonight! blokovchan Posted July 31, 2018 Posted July 31, 2018 Alpen, one question, did you bring back the AV8? Yes, it's here, but i'm not sure if in every mission...
Alpenwolf Posted July 31, 2018 Author Posted July 31, 2018 Alpen, one question, did you bring back the AV8? The 10 old missions you're familiar with are online currently. So yes, the Harrier is included in most missions. Not in the dynamic campaign though, which will back online some time. The idea is to have the missions run for a while, then launch the campaign for 2-3 weeks until a coalition wins, and then go back to the missions for a change. Alpenwolf Posted July 31, 2018 Author Posted July 31, 2018 (edited) Operation: Behind Enemy Lines Situation: Red Airbases: Bassel Al-Assad, Abu al-Duhur, Taftanaz, Aleppo and Kuweires.operates from Kutaisi Airbase, a Road Base and FARP Yunga. Blue Airbases: Incirlik, Adana Sakir pasa and Gaziantep There are two airbases by the Syrian-Turkish borderline of high strategical importance for both coalitions: The Red airbase of Minakh and the Blue airbase of Hatay. Both coalitions are pushing with ground forces towards the enemy's airbase to capture it while keeping their airbase safe (players can and should control the units through Combined Arms through the cmdr and JTAC slots. Solo playing is unappreciated). The coalition holding both Minakh and Hatay Airbases wins the day. Each coalition has a number of tanks and anti-air units at its airbase (Minakh/Hatay). However, the enemy's advancing ground units might overwhelm the defending units with a larger number of tanks. Therefore, CAS providing aircraft and attack helicopters must assist wherever needed. RED Objectives: MiG's, F1's and L-39's: - Provide CAP east of bullseye (Hatay Airbase - hostile at mission's start). - Provide escort/cover for our strikers and helicopters. - Be aware of enemy AA's around the bullseye and west of our Minakh Airbase. F1's Waypoints: 1- Minakh Airbase (friendly) 2- Hatay Airbase (hostile) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Su-25's, Ka-50's and Mi-24's: - Provide CAS for our defending and outnumbered ground units at Minakh airbase. - Provide CAS for our advancing ground units at the bullseye, Hatay airbase. Enemy tanks are advancing towards Minakh while holding a defence line at Hatay Airbase. Both enemy tank groups are protected by multiple AA units. Be aware of possible Hawk SAM sites deployed by enemy helicopters. At Minakh Airbase we have 1 Tor and a KUB site among other inferior AA units to help you perform CAS safely. In addition, use comms to call for CAP to increase your survivability. Waypoints: Waypoint-1 (-2 in the ABRIS system) is 15 km southwest of Minakh Airbase: The possible location of enemy advancing ground units at mission's start (blue arrows). Waypoint-2 (-3 in the ABRIS system) is the enemy's airbase of Hatay - bullseye. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mi-8's (Mi-24's optional objective): Your job is deploying AA units wherever is needed! Our advancing ground units, 15 km southeast of Hatay Airbase are already escorted by Streals and Shilkas. However, this doesn't mean you shouldn't deploy more to increase their survivability. Deploying a KUB SAM site for instance might force enemy strikers to fly low and thus become easier targets for friendly AA units escorting the tanks. Another matter of high importance is deploying a JTAC unit to help with locating enemy ground units. Make sure you use SRS for communicating with others, especially the GCI operator (if available) and deploy units according to his need. Picking up crates: Bring up your radio menu, select F10 for CTLD and then whatever type of crates you want to pick up. *** You can only pick up one crate at a time *** For picking up a crate, maintain hover over it for 5 seconds while keeping an altitude of at least 7.5 meters and a maximum altitude of 15 meters. To unpack a crate, make sure you're at least 3 km away from the airbase you started at. *********************************************************************************************************************************************** BLUE Objectives: F-5's, F-4's and C-101's: - Provide CAP east of bullseye (Hatay Airbase - friendly at mission's start). - Provide escort/cover for our strikers and helicopters. - Be aware of enemy AA's around the bullseye and at Minakh Airbase. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- AJS37's, A-10's, OH-58's and SA342's: - Provide CAS for our defending and outnumbered ground units at Hatay Airbase. - Provide CAS for our advancing ground units at the bullseye, Minakh Airbase. 1- Waypoint-1 is the location of the enemy's ground units (T-80 and T-55 tanks mainly) east of Hatay Airbase. 2- Waypoint-2 is the bullseye; Minakh Airbase (T-55 tanks mainly) Enemy tanks are advancing towards Hatay while holding a defence line at Minakh Airbase. Both enemy tank groups are protected by multiple AA units. Be aware of possible KUB SAM sites deployed by enemy helicopters. At Hatay Airbase we have a number of AA units. Fly back to it quickly in case enemy fighters approach you until friendly fighters arrive if not there already. In addition, use comms to call for CAP to increase your survivability. Waypoints: Waypoint-1 is 10 miles southeast of Hatay Airbase; The possible location of enemy advancing ground units at mission's start (red arrows). Waypoint-2 is the enemy's airbase of Minakh - bullseye. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UH-1's and CH-47's: Your job is deploying AA units wherever is needed! Our advancing ground units, 10 miles southwest of Minakh Airbase are already escorted by Avengers and Vulcans. However, this doesn't mean you shouldn't deploy more to increase their survivability.
