rattler Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 Ok , lets get this project rolling. Shotsx74, you said you would be willing to purchase the software we need, are you still commited to that and if so, how soon can you have it in your hands. Give me the word on that. This is necessary to start. Next we need a Project co-ordinator for the people who will be doing the actually modding and textures etc. I see his job as getting a commited group together and make a list of what has to be done first etc. Make the decision on who will use the software. Once we have it extracted into usable formate for modding then start on the list. This could be also two people working with the group. So guys step up to the plate. We need names. I can take care of being in contact with the co-ordinator and pass info to the forum as things get rolling to keep everyone up on the progress of the Project. Let me hear from you as this can not happen without your commitment. This Model is almost complete so we do have a job ahead but it is not a large one when we have people commited to doing this. So this is the first step. Shotsx74, getting the software and he will be the owner of it but on loan to whom ever the co-ordinator chooses to use it. Now Names for the Co-Ordinator/s of the mod team. Let me know ASAP. Mull it over and if you want it, send me your name. Once this is in place we will be in a position to start the Project. Lets show people how we can get together and get something accomplished as a group. Many have given their time with addons and skins etc. by themselves now lets show we can do something very worth while as a group. Cheers. I will be waiting for some positive news!!
SuperKungFu Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 I'll be part of the co-ordinator since I sortof started this idea. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
rattler Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 I posted this question about at the zmodeler2 forum http://forum.zmodeler2.com/viewtopic.php?p=13139#13139 So keep an eye on that for the answer. I will watch the topic. Super can you get someone to start talking about a Project co-ordinator for this and a list of people he can get to commit to working with a group to see this project done. You know most of the modders, can you ask one to start a conversation about this and hopefully come up the a co-ordinator and some people willing to do what has to be done with the modding, texture, etc. Would be a great help. I think this project is getting close to starting but we need modders obviously. Cheers. Give me a shout about this.
rattler Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 yea i trust GGtharos to be a leader. GG, are you willing to oversee this project? If you do, is it possible for you to set up an open account for others to donate money into? Once its raised to $53, you can register the project. Even though you may or may not have 3dmax, i think it would be ok since you could just host the .3ds file and let someone with 3dmax to jump in. But before you do that, we need to gather info about the zmodeler2 software. Like walmis said, if it can't extract texture mapping, then it's a waste of time. Ha, your way ahead of me.
rattler Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 Shots: Super is checking to make sure the software will do what we need it to do but I would still like confirmation if you are still willing to purchase it as the owner if it is what we need. Let me Know how you still feel about this. Cheers.
rattler Posted April 15, 2007 Author Posted April 15, 2007 Super can I take it that you and GG will be the co-ordinators for the project. That would be really great news. Got a lot of respect for you guys and I know you can get a group together to work on this. Let me know if that is a real afirm. on the positions. Please say YES. Watch for a reply from Shotsx74 about the software.
SuperKungFu Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 IIRC- Knell said he was working on a few things for ED so i guess he can't really do it. Strike already has enough on his plate with the Su-27 and the MiG-21 Lo-fi, i haven't heard from him in a while. He was working on that A-10 model, but last i heard his comp "fried" so i dunno what happened after that. Still, the best person for the job would probably be walmis since, afterall, it is his work so he knows it top and down. However, if he chooses not to continue, we can all respect that since he brought us so far. So that doesn't really leave us with much option. Kys- who made that latest fictional model, doesn't seem to be on this forum. i'm trying to get in contact with him over at lockon-models.com. I posted that same question a while back on this thread http://www.lockon-models.com/index.php?showtopic=198 If anyone who knows anything about modeling, or just knows how to do animations and such since this model is nearly complete, please say something. Or if you speak russian and could ask this question over at the russian forum, that would be great also. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
HungaroJET Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 I posted this question about at the zmodeler2 forum http://forum.zmodeler2.com/viewtopic.php?p=13139#13139 So keep an eye on that for the answer. ...Iv tried ...previously... :( ...Answer: From:Oleg Posted:Sun Feb 18, 2007 10:02 am Subject:Re: LOMAC .cmd & .lom files There will be no support for any "old" (.cmd) formats. and concerning lom export - there will be no too, since .lom files contain animation. :( :helpsmilie: Atop the midnight tarmac, a metal beast awaits. SuperKungFu Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 So wait, just to clerify, does that concern the texture mapping? Because i know lock on no longer uses .cmd files and it is now .lom. But will the model itself be ok? It just looses its animations? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
sp0nge Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Im willing to try and learn the program inside out. Ive got a week and a bit of free time to get started :) Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

But will the model itself be ok? It just looses its animations? Super, see what you can come up with. We can only try. I was hopeful that there were more modders available. Keep poking around. Something may come to lite. If not maybe a delay till some of the other projects etc. get done, if we can get them to commit to the F15 when they finish it would be better than nothing. Waited this long. If we knew we could get it finished I would not mind the wait. Walmis, we can only ask, if we can give him the tools to finish we could ask him and if he says he's had enough well, we will have to hope for the future. Damn it's so close you can taste it. That's the killer so very near but yet so far.cheers. I will hope that something comes up in our favor. No one can say that we didn't try. I still have not lost hope yet.Keep up the excellent work till you know we are out of luck for now. I know you have put a lot of time asking around etc. Thanks very much for that.
