rassy7 Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Is there a way to bind the button at the bottom of the DDI that changes the countermeasure program (when that screen is up) to a key or button on my joystick? I'm finding I don't have time to use the mouse to switch programs after a long run-in to a more aggressive program after I shoot and scoot. Same question goes for bomb programs as well, I guess. Be nice not to have to use the mouse during high-G maneuvers between bomb runs when I should be heads-up looking for AAA and SAM's. rassy7 Posted June 12, 2018 Author Posted June 12, 2018 So ... I'm guessing no, it's not possible? Kind of a bummer. probad Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 (edited) hotas doesnt seem to be fully in place yet, but for your countermeasure needs remember dispense switch forward activates program 5 so you can have two programs running at any one time which by itself should be enough. you can always then hotkey override as a third option. i personally think your perceived need for program switching is unnecessary in the first place considering the current state of dcs seekers edit: you can actually map the mfd buttons, look for "LEFT/RIGHT MDI PB [X]" Edited June 12, 2018 by probad
rassy7 Posted June 12, 2018 Author Posted June 12, 2018 you can always then hotkey override as a third option. Thanks. Can you explain what you mean by this? Would it actually invoke an additional program? Also, I suck at CM and evasion and until I can learn pick up these beasts when they're launched, I need all the help I can get. probad Posted June 12, 2018 Posted June 12, 2018 hit override and you can manually dispense one unit of chaff/flare per activation of forward/aft dispense respectively as an adhoc cm program.

I can assign a keystroke to any DDI button or joystick button. That is how the Cougar MFD's work.

What are they called? Or is a different process required? Thanks!
