GiGurra Posted April 23, 2007 Posted April 23, 2007 If you think the Ramp is too complex I dont know if OF is a very good idea. If you want to touch the programming and configuration of the more delicate systems....hmm.....I guess OF is the game to go with, but if you want to just fight with some realism, AF or RV are ok I guess. (hate them myself though =) [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Pic does not refer to =RvE=Flame in any way
Colt40Five Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 I didn't find the avionics in falcon very difficult. Lots to learn sure, but once you know where everything is no big deal. especially if you have a HOTAS with plenty of buttons and modes. Ramp starts may seem daunting, but it's just following a checklist. I did it a few times just to do it, but all it does is add 15-20 mins to your flight time. After that I just started from the runway. I put about 200 hrs into F4AF, beat several campaigns, then came right back to lockon. F4's FM sux IMHO, no matter if the "numbers" are right or not. Lockon "feels" like flying to me and that's what keeps me flying it. F4AF isn't even installed on my system anymore. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
VMFA-Blaze Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 F4's FM sux IMHO, no matter if the "numbers" are right or not. Lockon "feels" like flying to me and that's what keeps me flying it. F4AF isn't even installed on my system anymore. I'm actually not intimidated by the avionics, I just ha vent put that much time into learning it ... Theres too much going on RL for me..... I do have a hotas and when I do find the time I'm going to set it up...... But what I can see my statement still stands regarding the avionics.. They seem to be more realistic than LO, but I'm in total agreement with you concerning the FM... It just seems to be too unresponsive enough for me.. As far as LO avionics, ED is certainly aware of some of the shortcomings of their avionics... And this was actually brought out by several posts by the development team... But this is No Biggy, they are close in some instances and spot on in others.. And as I mentioned before when we see the new AFM for aircraft and missiles along with clickable cockpits, there wont be another contemporary combat simulator that can touch it.... ~S~ Blaze intel Cor i7-6700K ASUS ROG MAX VIII Extreme G.Skill TridentZ Series 32 GB Samsung 850 Pro 1TB SATA II ASUS GTX 1080/DIRECTX 12 Windows 10 PRO Thrustmaster Warthog Oculus Rift VR
