flyco Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 The Hook light only appears to illuminate while the hook is moving. Is this correct? - I would have thought a permanent DOWN indication would be more useful. I like to do a 'Gear down' check on late finals in any aircraft and it would seem to me that 'Gear and Hook' check as I approach the deck would be very useful.
poochies Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 yeah it's just an " in transit ' light while hook is moving .. one way to make sure It's down with out looking at hook is if you're AOA indexer yellow donut is steady then it's down, if it's flashing then you better lower the hook !

escaner Posted June 15, 2018 Posted June 15, 2018 The light illuminates when the position of the lever and the position of the hook itself do not match. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
