New pit for vr

You all seen my current setup with the rear being speedmaster fight seat the front is the pft puma helicopter controls with an office max laptop tray holding my Acer Predator 17x laptop.

 

I’ve added a tm warthog hotas, the throttle is stock but the stick as two of the long extensions by the nice gentleman in the for cell section here.it also has a jetseat by Andre, and a oculus rift cv1 vr setup. I’m planning on adding a button box which one I’ve designedyet to be determined if the two items I’ve inquired about this week end fill out I’ll be tearing it down and transforming it. If I do I will create a blog detailing everything and depending on a couple things I might be building a full pledge computer just for simmimg with the best hardware in it. But my ideal is it still be located in the corner of the room where it is now. Because of my health and my legs being week I’m planing on raising the seat no matter what and if I do that I’ll need to raise the puma to maintain the correct position of it so that’s a platform raise. I’m wanting to modify the front removing the pedal tray since it interfears with the puma. I’ve also thought down the line I may segment the puma and have it a removable components so to change the pit from a helo to a fighter remove the puma stick as a minimum and place in the warthogthe pedals not that important and there’s a shelf for the throttle to the left of the seat.the collective is out of the way ass it is. Then to go/commercial ac just mount the yoke and the multilevel Thor=tale quadrant on the hrs of the seat on a shelf that is currently there. Say you get tire of flying and wish to race some add in the madcatz racing setup that I got a few years back and your ready to go . With vr, touch glovesand the right frame of mind the pit can be very versatile.

 

How many of you are willing to follow the progression from what it is today to what it will be in the future. I will be using currently available hardware . The twist is I’m merging one or more available hardware into a Frankenstein’s pit of sorts some items may require custom pieces from the provider like send photos and measurements to one so there hardware will bolt up to my existing hardware. Other wise it buy, install and use. No welding, maybe cutting some stuff off as I plan to but that depends on you setup. My problem is using the front of the speedmaster flight frame with my puma they just don’t work together. This will happen as so as I verify the the mod will work and alternative solutions for the use of othe pedal may be use if the puma I’d removed. If I buy new ones I’m thinking the new tm twr would be the ones.

 

More if the progresses but for now I need to know if I write it you’ll go read it. I’m thinking of using it as Theropy also .

I am doing the same sort of thing, I figure those who are interested would look in and those that are not well their not. However the main reason is simply to give others ideas and a modicum of inspiration, hence the reason I follow others myself. Besides who knows someone may simply go I see your doing X but if you did it this way etc etc so we all learn. :thumbup: :D

Frag you look like a dyier, myself I’m not able to anymore. I’m seriously thinking on getting a 3dof motion platform later this year. I just ordered the CaptoGloves to see how well they work in dcs and xp. I’m also making a button box the first one I designed may be the one I go with but if the gloves work I’ll just need push buttons and no toggles or rotarys waiting to see but I still might go ahead with the one I planed to use in the mean time I always can build a second since I have everything on hand except the box.
