Here is your oportunity to design a variant of the Black Sea Battles Hosted on the 169th Dedicated server

Black-Sea-Battles-1 is the template to be used.

Rules:

* No objects or aircraft already in place can be removed or altered.

* 1 event or package can be added to the mission. This might be a tank column, an AI Strike Force attacking an airfield, a small convoy of ships moving towards an area.

* A detailed description must be supplied of what has been added and when it will appear or take effect including the number of units.

* Missions must be tested offline before passing them in.

Remember, this mission is designed to last 12-14 hours So choose the time that your package takes effect carefully.

Looking forward to seeing some interesting surprises to spruce up this already great theatre.

This mission is great, except 2 things imo. Really well designed, you guys did a great job on it. I played on it the other night.

Why are we putting externals on and encouraging ghosting? Goes against what people usually see as fair, ya? Just curious. lol

The only other thing is that when its up on a pub the ground pounders got a long night ahead. Its a 20-30 min flight to get to targets. If no one is really paying attention to you when you ask for CAP, your just a sitting duck out there where all the fighters merge. Theres obviously some lack of insight on my part, i'm sure. And with wingmen, this would be alot of fun. So not really the missions fault. Would be nice for the 25T's to take off at maykop though.

I didnt play blue, but the 2 things i would change are the externals/map, and CAS waypoints. I don't think you wanted those messed with though! :music_whistling:

I dislike externals also :noexpression:

Funny thing happened on the way to Gelendzhik this morning.

A virtual pilot whose name I wont reveal was shot down today by another flyer.

He quickly Cried "Externals On is NOT Realistic.. Goodbye!!"

Then someone called back. "Externals are DISABLED!!"

Fortunately for him he was on red team which helped to conceal his embarrassment.

So did you disable externals in 169th server?

thanks for the comliment. The mission is the end result of 12 months or more of tweaking and testing.

Why are we putting externals on and encouraging ghosting? Goes against what people usually see as fair, ya? Just curious. lol

1. The server is for everyone. Having externals on gives new guys an oportunity to see what the hell is actually going on.

2. Popularity. Its proven to be more popular with them on than off.

3. For fun. I and many others like to watch their own aircraft fly bye, admire skins and best of all watch their team mates take out targets like ships or sam sites. as well as enemy pilots.

4. The server already has AWACS most of the time and they will do a better job of giving SA then trying to F2. Especially once there starts to get more players.

5. Policing: Admins are able to respond quickly to warpers, and illegal loaders.

All in all its our opinion that the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages.

This whole mission is designed for teamwork. A single 25T flying on his own survival rate is very poor. However, a coordinated strike of 2 or more with fighter escort has a much greater chance of being successful and surviving. If a plan is made and fighters meet up with frogs then then extra flying time is useful get the group formed up.

Running a server and designing missions you soon learn that: You can't make everyone happy all of the time. You can make most happy most of the time.

Ice realy like the 169th server, I must admit that externals can be pain in ars, but I guese u turn them down when flying against another team, we are sttill noobs but can easy say where the bandit is by just watching him fast in externals. and u are right there its mutch better for those who started not long time a go.
