Picking up troops from ships?

Hi guys,

 

Any way to place infantry on the deck of the Stennis or Tarawa for example to be picked up with CTLD in PG?

Do I have to use the copy/paste trick to place those guys on the sea?

Not implemented yet. but surely implemented with the deck crew coming.

In the meantime, CTLD does allow ships to be used as pickup zones if memory serves.

Yes, you are right. But how to place units there? There must be or have been a way to do that for CTLD to deal with this case. Or maybe it deals only with dropoffs on ships. Not pickups?

They won't be visible, but the ship is automatically considered a pickup zone if the option is enabled and you will be able to pick up troops via the F10 -> CTLD -> Troop Transport menu.

 

If the ship is stationary and you want the troops to be visible, SUNTSAG created a mod that allows troops to be placed on water. Not sure if they'll move up to the ship deck though.

You might also be able to use static infantry and the new link unit function, now that I think of it. :thumbup:
