gary palmer Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Hi I have a Thrustmaster T.16000M FCS joystick which is getting somewhat tired/sloppy. Am wondering if I replace it with exactly the same type; will I be able to just disconnect the tired stick and replace/connect the new one and keep all my input bindings without any other actions. So will work just as it did with old same type joystick. Thankyou...Gary
HiJack Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Yes it will but you have to rename the joystick .diff files to the new device ID. These are all in saved games input folder.
gary palmer Posted July 6, 2018 Author Posted July 6, 2018 Hi HiJack I found the .diff.lua in location C:\Users\Gary\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\FA-18C_hornet\joystick for example ...and gather the number in brackets as per pic attached is the current joystick ID. How would you obtain the new joystick device ID? so as to cut and paste it into the file name within brackets of .diff.lua file. Is this how it is done...Gary
HiJack Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 Just make one change in config for the new hotas and it will save using the new ID.
gary palmer Posted July 6, 2018 Author Posted July 6, 2018 Thanks HiJack...so to confirm: connect new HOTAS...make a single change with new joystick...copy ID within brackets of new HOTAS to old .diff.lua HOTAS within brackets. Is this all correct? THX gary
tintifaxl Posted July 6, 2018 Posted July 6, 2018 That's correct. Windows 10 64bit, Intel i9-9900@5Ghz, 32 Gig RAM, MSI RTX 3080 TI, 2 TB SSD, 43" 2160p@1440p monitor.
gary palmer Posted July 7, 2018 Author Posted July 7, 2018 I will not know for some time as I have not received the new joystick yet. Sounds like it worked for you...is that correct? Thanks too for your help HiJack...Gary
