I went to start my 2.5.2 "stable" version. Message said 2.5.3 update available.

I went to update and the process failed. Message box said awaiting process to complete, but nothing was happening...CPU process=0.

I look at the log and see this,

00935.778 INFO : RMDIR E:\DCS World\_downloads\.torrents

00935.778 ERROR: Can't cleanup E:\DCS World\_downloads\.torrents: Can't remove directory E:\DCS World\_downloads\.torrents: (145) The directory is not empty.

00935.781 STATUS: Downloading update...

00935.781 INFO : Using HTTP/2

Any one else seeing this?

Hi,

I have the same problem. Started update for DCS 2.5.2.19682 Update 7, but the process never complete. If I shut down the updater after a while it seems all was downloaded, but the game display version

DCS 2.5.2.19273. Also tried to clean up, repair and then update again from command prompt. Same result. Is there a way to get the update that doesn't use torrent, as this seems to be the problem? Hopefully it can be fixed or someone know a workaround for now.

I just had another "update" notification. This time for 2.9.4.76.

"Downloading update"...this is frozen and never completes.

This is pretty pathetic!

This problem was fixed for me now. Today I launched the game again after yesterdays failed completing process, and it asked to do the update. Then it verified the files and shut down properly. As I had downloaded the update as of yesterday no torrents had to start. The game now display the latest verion. Possibly a way around the problem.

Hello, this problem cropped up for me as well ... started two updates ago. Update apparently downloads and during the unpacking process it stops. Have to shut down computer and restart. Then restart the update where more downloading is required. Rinse and repeat until install is done.

My update just would not complete, probably the same behaviour as yours.

I really don't understand what is occurring with these "stable" updates.

The good news is today an update seems to have completed.

Today I again got the update ready notification, to 2.5.4, so I accepted it and this time the update completed. It completed very quickly and seemingly without ant downloading or torrent download. The update, appears to been the mini Hornet update. It has updated the the Hornet to include the radar updates etc. Noteably, all my key assignments were erased, thus I needed to re assign my HOTAS etc.

I am still seeing 2.5.2 on the DCS screen? But at least the update appears to have worked this time.

Best regards.

Similar problem here. I request the offered update. It gets as far as verifying my installed version and the computer freezes. I get an error message that says: system can't find bin DCS exe.: (2)

I tried deleting my installation and reloading it. Still have the same problem in updating.

I'm using a solid state hard drive.

This needs fixing.

Here's my log:

Nobody at DCS will address this update mess.

The updates are a POS mostly anyway, normally 4 gb of data not even needed for my install.

The update process is akin to doing a kitchen remodel with a hand grenade.

The old box of chocolates, "you just never know what you're going to get".

I'm getting the impression that DCS believes that there are thousands of people trying to steal their GAME. Yes I said GAME lol.

Most of these "updates" have contained code that has NOTHING to do with the CHANGE LOG!
