ED Team Wags Posted July 21, 2018 ED Team Posted July 21, 2018 As of the update this week, the map size is final. From the start, the map was planned to include Iran, UAE, and Oman. This will not change. When time allows though, we will try to add some additional airfields and landmarks in the UAE. Our may team has now moved on to the next map that we will announce later this year. Thanks, Matt I know you said persia map is final but as technology advances we see maps getting better and more detialed, maybe you could add Qatar & Bahrain. Bahrain hosts the massivley important U.S. Navy's 5th Fleet which oversees the region, Qatar hosts Forward headquarters of the U.S. military’s Central Command at Al Udeid Air Base, turkey also has its own base in qatar. ggrewe Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 Hopefully with the new Iraq map, Bahrain through to Kuwait will be populated on the Iraq map (after the North, as per announcement) and ED will allow a paid option to buy for Persian Gulf, at a reasonable price? I hate the lower quality terrain on cross over maps (e.g. Normandy 2 & the Channel map) which are mutually exclusive, because the maps are made by different companies - it is very frustrating. Urga Media & OnReTech came to a compromise on use of assets covering Northern Israel, for which we are very grateful. With the cross over of multiple maps, especially covering the Middle East now & going forward, I hope there will not be a debacle like what happened with the Channel & Normandy maps. That assets from one map can be ported across maps in shared areas. I would be prepared to pay (a fair price) to have this option, if ED is worried about copy write or losing out on finances. As per the part map payment process for upcoming Afghanistan & Iraq maps, could allow options to populate previous maps with new map areas created & visa versa.
rob10 Posted December 5, 2024 Posted December 5, 2024 (edited) I doubt you'll get the option to get details in the extreme western part of PG map even if they fill those areas in on the Iraq map. Simple reason: PG is an old map and made with a totally different technology to what the newer maps are using. So there would be almost no benefit programatically from the fact that they had it in Iraq when adding it to the PG. Sure they'd have some of the details of what to add, but they'd literally have to recreate those part in PG, not just copy/paste them in. Edited December 17, 2024 by rob10 2

But hopefully they find a way to port assets across all the cross-over map sections going forward (including older maps) I would be prepared to pay to enhance my existing maps, and if there one thing ED are very good at - its getting money out of us Would significantly improve the Persian Gulf map 2
