Carlos Luiz Martins Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 (edited) IN Fast Action how to communicate with Tanker in order to extend the hose using the keyboard Edited August 4, 2018 by Carlos Luiz Martins adding keybvoard
Greyman Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 VAICOM Pro alongside Voice Attack does it for me. Just two spoken phrases, "tanker, approaching to refuel" and when close in, "ready pre-contact" and job's a good 'un.
WindyTX Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Use the radio menu but you need to be close. Unfortunately as the hose is not already out, like it would be for real, it's hard to get to the precontact position about 10ft behind the basket without a basket there. Maybe eventually ED can leave the hoses out and we can do silent procedures and not bother with the radio. This was the easiest way in reality to Tank and the way it was done on every exercise and Flag. webweaver40 Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 I use voice attack for F1 - F12 . it allows me to communicate with NPC chat hands free. Ex: I speak "F one" to press F1, etc. The button I press for voice attack is on my hotas of course. I also set that same button to mute discord and ts while active. Using voice attack this way also allows me access to external views and map hands free. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk
NatoAviator Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 Hey Greyman, would you mind sharing your Viacom PRO & Voice Attack profiles? Are you using both together in DCS F-18? Thank you.
Greyman Posted August 4, 2018 Posted August 4, 2018 I just use the standard VP profile. It senses what aircraft you are flying in DCS and adjusts the profile accordingly.

Biga42 Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Carlos as I told you in PM practice with this mission! Good luck!
CHSStarKiller Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 I just use the standard VP profile. It senses what aircraft you are flying in DCS and adjusts the profile accordingly. Can you add commands to the VIACOM plugin? I Have a VoiceAttack profile that uses "Airborn" command to basically Flaps Auto/Gear UP, etc. Same for my break I say "On Final and it sets my jet up. Again can they be added as commands to the profile? Greyman Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 I'm fairly sure that you can add more commands to the profile, which can replace the need to press specific keys/buttons, or combinations thereof, but I have yet to try.
GIJoe Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 I'm fairly sure that you can add more commands to the profile, which can replace the need to press specific keys/buttons, or combinations thereof, but I have yet to try. The VAICOM profile and documentation allows for this very thing. It discusses the procedure to add additional commands, and has an example template in the profile for those commands. I added ones that bring up the kneeboard and advances the pages as an example.
Rackham Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 No problem to convert each and every command by keyboard or joystick in a vocal command, but addition must be done in VoiceAttack (Edit profile / New Command).
