Flaming Cliffs hangs on load screen

Hey Guys, I just built a nice system, intel dual core 3600, 4 gigs ddr2 ram and 8800 gtx card running vista ultimate. After my computer boots up I can play the game with no problem, I can load any campaign and it runs beutifully. However, if I exit the current campaign, or try and load another one, the program freezes on the load page and I have to control alt delete to get out of it. If I restart the game again, I will run into the same issue unless I do a complete system restart. Has anyone else had this problem, or have any suggestions?

 

Thanks, the game looks awesome and I am dying to get more familiar with it, but I need help making it stable.

tell us your install process: It should have been

1.0 original Lock On

1.1 Flaming Cliffs

1.12b patch <-- make sure its the cd version and it does say 1.12b.

 

And hows the single missions rather than campaign?

 

Also, have you installed any mods.

I installed the original Lomac 1.0, I downloaded the flaming cliffs expansion from this website and then installed the 1.12b patch for web download. I did this twice thinking it was a bad instal originally but no change. I have also tried running the game in windows xp compatibility mode but it does not change a thing.

 

The problem occurs during loading of any type of campaign, training, misson editor, single missions....

 

When it does load however, it looks awesome, I have everything maxed out and the frame rates are in the high double digits.

 

Any other suggestions?

hm... just a quick question... does the mission that fails to load has weather set to full overcast, and those that load fine dont?

No, any misson, clear days as well as full overcast.

For anyone who was having simliar problems. I was able to fix the problem by changing force mip maps to none in the Nvidia control panel. There hasn't been a problem with hangups during loads since and the game is running perfectly.

 

Hopfeully with enouhg practice and getting comfortable with the controls I will be able to join you guys in multiplayer soon.

It's a cronicle Windows Vista problem so it's not about your pc. v1.12b patch can't solve the problem so we're looking for a new patch from ED. :mad:

Still same Problem here on ATI x1950xt. No solution, tried everything that was suggested and that i could think of.
