Nooch Posted August 21, 2018 Posted August 21, 2018 Hi, I've come accross an episode of the Fighter Pilot Podcast (episode #20 between 7:23 and 8:13) where Jell-O says that when you advance the throttles just a notch from idle, the engine exhaust nozzles begin to close, giving you added thrust without an increase in fuel flow. The behavior that he describes is different from what we have in the current DCS F-18. Fuel flow increases immediately and the nozzles don't start closing until quite far in the throttle range. Now maybe the devs have already researched the subject and this doesn't apply to the Lot 20, I don't know... But at least I wanted to make sure they saw this. Thanks! [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Eldur Posted August 22, 2018 Posted August 22, 2018 Has been brought up already IIRC and I think this is a legit report. I doubt the Lot 20 are different.
Nooch Posted August 22, 2018 Author Posted August 22, 2018 Well, I made a similar thread in the Hornet general forum about three weeks ago. My post wasn't very well formulated and I guess because I didn't post in the bugs subforum, the devs didn't see it. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
