I'm not sure what the normal usage is for this map;

But it's defiantly off the charts in terms of ram usage. I'm not really sure what's causing it. I've tried to flip a few settings in the options page, with no joy. I have the terrain setting to Low, tried reducing the visibility range to high and preload radius to below 60k. I ran into this issue previously before with Caucasus map, but I was running 12 GB and bumped myself up to 16 GB RAM now DCS hit's the ceiling using 14GB+ on DCS in task manager. What gives with the insane ram usage?

I've ran into 1 BSOD so far, but I'm mainly crashing during mission. Multiplayer is usually fine, as long as I don't come to close to an AV8B...it'll just..lock up for 15+ seconds..:joystick:

It defiantly seemed more stable a few days ago, but progressively gotten worse. [Purchased this map 2 Days ago]

I expected to be fine with my system specs coming from Xplane 11 (Janked up with OrthoXP100GB+ of terrain) and IL2 BOX. Both of these titles I've ran near max with no issues.

What's the recommended configuration for this map for my set-up? Any good tips to look out for to keep this issue in check?

Just FYI - I've found a few things in my troubleshooting:

If this game crashes and does not close properly, It won't clear your memory. Although task manager will show your memory is clear. It will still be reserved for that session. So instead if you open a new session. It will "Stack" The memory on the new session and it will double your RAM usage for DCS even if not used...I've ran into this issue 5 Years ago with "Total War Shogun 2"

For instance: If the Game crashes at 7GB RAM usage, when you go to open a new session/mission. It will have 14GB Allocated.

So if you have 16GB RAM. Your OS needs 2GB, 14GB + 2 = 16. You're at the ceiling - wanna Alt+Tab bud?...Nah System Crash if you're maxed -->[Reboot].

Also second note, [i haven't tested fully so take with a grain of salt] - But sometimes if you switch from Single Player to Multiplayer at a different location of the map you were using. It will leave that memory reserved. So your multiplayer mission will also have your ram doubled.

The best advice I can offer from this issue, is if your experiencing unusually high ram usage - Be sure to reboot. It'll channel the power from your ram to complete a proper reset.

I just loaded FA18 Free Flight mission on PG....15.2GB RAM and 20GB swap after a fresh reboot and directly into DCS. That numbers were present before I hit the FLY button.

16GB + FA18 is on the edge, as sad as it is for many.
