  2. I know the GCAS is planning to be implemented but I can't help to ask - what's going to happen when the GCAS is implemented and your pilot gets killed. There just going to be a bunch of F-16's floating around with corpses in multiplayer?

  4. Thanks Mike! I just wasn't sure it was okay to post here or If I should've stuck with the skinners thread, thanks for that clarification. I know you guys are pretty swamped. Glad to even see a response - it's big deal to have to go through each thread, read the bug, and post a response! LOL nothing I'd ever take for granted. Appreciate all you guys are doing.
  5. This could be huge, as I've also noticed that the F-18's data link shows more hits than what the F-14 does. I have to completely change my strategy for engagements; and in tacview - I often find myself turning cold on targets mapped by AWACS 10-15 NM from me and fleeing from engagements that I could other wise have the advantage. Is this a limitation of the F-14's equipment?
  6. Tough to say where this really belongs - It seems to be some where in the middle between the bit mapping and the texture. But I'd imagine just moving to the texture would be easier.
  7. Anyone notice for all the default HB textures - this little detail is off by a little bit? I tired to report this on the skinners thread but it went unnoticed. I believe it's that way on both sides. I corrected it on my own livery. There's also some backward text on the starboard side. Now that I've noticed it - it's hard to ignore lol -corrected example below-

  9. This is good to know! The F14 is already packed full of small historical details so hopefully it doesn't change and make it the final draft. Even though it was subsequently removed in the later F14 variants. . It was a staple for the A variant for a short time and it's inclusion will keep it from being forgotten entirely (lol) while maintaining your high standards for fidelity.
  10. Layman's Explanation below The Standard quick mission against the Mig - 21 with the ai set to excellent. I'm successful usually 90% of the time - unless I'm being lazy. I try to challenge myself and hold off on using missiles. While letting the Mig 21 maintain the extra munition advantage. I find if you drive the Mig 21 low, it's a pretty easy win. Also try to remember that the Tomcat is pretty strong in a vertical climb and low speeds. The Ai constantly attempts to have you over shoot by burning it's energy, so keep that switch for the airbrake close and handy. Observe what the Ai is trying to do for speed. Also if you're not confident with the bird to counter stalls with rudder input - it can make BFM a lot more complicated and difficult. So hone that skill quickly.

  12. As the title states - this is an inquiry to the glove vanes on the F14 and if they will still be implemented? I did some digging and found that HB did respond to another inquire related to this. But that response was years ago in 2015. I'm wondering if this is still relevant and will be perused as an option for the F14? Or at least as an "Enabled option" Similar to the Mi-8 and it's IR suppression capability as well as other additional options.
  13. With the F-14B pretty well planted in DCS now. I wanted to go ahead and ask the question - what's the status of the F-14A variant? Of course F-14 owners will still get it for free right? Is there an ETA or word on development progress? :crazy:
  14. This is for 2D - But I just finished some testing using rivatuner to lock my FPS and I can infact confirm this to be a huge defect with vsync on DCS. After adjusting those settings and doing some test flights today - NOT ONCE did my GPU usage go below 80-90%. :thumbup: Thanks for finding this out!
  15. So if I'm reading this thread right. If I offload my Vsync and adjust the aero effects I should expect better stability? After taking sometime last night to dig around what might be causing my stuttering, I was ready to start asking a few pointed questions lol ---> Like why does the GPU usage fluctuate so much in usuage on an 8770k? Is it normal? (Attached video Below) I started to suspect it must've been tied somehow to the performance loss..The flight would hit 40FPS and my GPU would be just sitting on the sidelines eating popcorn at 50% usage - like what's the deal..get off your ass dude But I'll just have to test these suggestions before I go any further glad it's not just me!

  19. Not really a bug - but Idk if anyone noticed (and not really a big deal) - but if you're using your HOTAS for camera movement you can stick your head pretty far out the aircraft to look back. I took my lunch time to illustrate an example. I'll attach an image of what it looks like in game once I make it home.
  20. Just FYI I got around this by re-installing my drivers for my HOTAS. Worked fine after - I also loaded from a different saved map just for the Axis. No issues so far.
  21. Are there still F-18 vapor trails? Been giving this a go in super humid air over caucasus with no joy, is anyone else experiencing the same issue? I've attached a picture of it working previously - Not getting the same effect

  23. You'll still get the A2A stutter Lol, I tried this over the weekend. Granted it wasn't 320x240 it was pretty low - same thing happened hitting the Mig-21 with a missile.
  24. The issue I'm attempting to bring light to is consistency. I'm all for playing a highly detailed sims and I enjoy it very much. If I understand the consumer base of this product - it's meant to be generally available for med to high system builds or more specifically the minimum requirements listed on the 2.5 DL page for Steam for and the main hub. Detailed sims that are unable to reach it's targeted consumer base could hurt potential opportunities at more profits by dis-encourage further investment due to poor software experience. Reviews for DCS like the one listed below are peppered pretty frequently throughout the steam. I'm not going to speculate his build. But the concern that arises is that issues like his are reported frequently - even users on graphics cards/equipment one generation behind. Granted I don't use steam for DCS - But the issues are cross platform and in my opinion across too wide of a hardware spectrum. https://steamcommunity.com/id/stoneheart32/recommended/223750/ Also another problem is that most users who exceed these requirements, run into consistency issues across All Graphical Settings. I'm not saying it's unacceptable. I'm just concerned for the amount of content being deployed with the risk of further destabilizing existing issues..issues that still has High capability to dampen experience. I spent a good amount of time Saturday digging into these issues extensively. Such as the A2A engagements and memory stacking etc..etc..and can report these issues are consistent across all graphical settings/ OS builds. Most notable the A2A engagements, as something that happens frequently in this sim. It was something that had my hopes to first resolve. (If you'd like to know what I've tried let me know). Good performance with this sim seems just out of reach. I believe the DX11 update was a good improvement and the game is great - I have a good experience with this product most of the time. But there are still some high attention items that needs to be addressed to further improve performance and to help rid DCS of the negative image as sim that requires an over powered system..Make it more available to a wider variety of customers and more consistent to users who already have DCS and to encourage people to spend more money into the product - rather than to spend more into their Computers and remove the "NASA required computer to run" stigma
