Cskelly Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 I have been working on a series of missions for the F/A-18. Currently I am working on attacking a moving convoy, I can not get my wingman/ flight to engage. I have tried several different task/commands and triggers. Every time I give the command: wingman or flight, engage/ mission and reform, the AI confirms the command (I think with "Roger") and then fly around and do nothing. I try engage/ ground targets and they say "unable". I have tried everything under the sun that I can think of. I made sure that the waypoint is far enough away to allow for them to setup their attack runs. Any ideas? The mission is flyable, fun and can be completed without the AI engaging the ground targets, but I am afraid if I post it for users to download, people might be disappointed in that aspect. I am very new to the mission editor, but enjoying creating missions. Thanks!
Emmy Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 For some reason, AI Lot 20 Hornets will not bomb. I've run across this myself. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://www.476vfightergroup.com/content.php High Quality Aviation Photography For Personal Enjoyment And Editorial Use. www.crosswindimages.com
enigma6584 Posted August 30, 2018 Posted August 30, 2018 FYI: It is my understanding all AI wingmen have issues with ground pounding at the moment so it is not just related to the F/A-18C module. I can't get my Su-33 comrades to hit targets on the ground. When I go into the mission editor to set up targets via waypoints, I noticed some "advanced waypoint actions" were missing so my guess is either a bug or ED may be working on new AI routines and it just hasn't hit beta or stable release yet.
Cskelly Posted August 31, 2018 Author Posted August 31, 2018 Glad it's not me, well at least for the time being. Thank you!
itarrow Posted August 31, 2018 Posted August 31, 2018 Same here: true both in FA18 as well as AV8B, issuing orders like “engage ground targets” and/or (if ground targets are mission primary targets) “engage mission and rejoin”.
