Floydii Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 What determines where the B-Scope radar display is focused? Is it a set point in front of the aircraft based on the radar range setting? Is it based on the currently selected steerpoint or radar crosshair? The B-Scope is really good for identifying things like airfields etc, but I'll be damned if I can figure out what determines where it looks at on the ground as the manual skirts the matter everytime.
RagnarDa Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 B-scope is straight ahead and at the distance of your next waypoint (if it is within 120km). In Hinder-mode it’s directly in front of the aircraft. DCS AJS37 HACKERMAN There will always be bugs. If everything is a priority nothing is.
RagnarDa Posted September 2, 2018 Posted September 2, 2018 Yes DCS AJS37 HACKERMAN There will always be bugs. If everything is a priority nothing is.
Floydii Posted September 2, 2018 Author Posted September 2, 2018 Thanks for the response RagnarDa :) If that information is not in the manual, could it please be included?
RagnarDa Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 I guess it would be on JediTeos to-do list DCS AJS37 HACKERMAN There will always be bugs. If everything is a priority nothing is.
Holton181 Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 In Hinder-mode it’s directly in front of the aircraft. Just to get it straight. Does this mean that B-scope is the main mode for terrain avoidance mode, or was it just general information that terrain avoidance mode always mean straight ahead? RagnarDa Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 I believe that B-scope is probably the most useful when in terrain avoidance mode. IIRC it displays something like an area 2km ahead of the aircraft. All radar modes display straight ahead but B-scope distance can vary. DCS AJS37 HACKERMAN There will always be bugs. If everything is a priority nothing is.
Holton181 Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 IIRC it displays something like an area 2km ahead of the aircraft. All radar modes display straight ahead but B-scope distance can vary. This sounds a bit contradicting. First you say "2km" then you say "distance can vary" regarding the B-scope distance. Did you mean PPI in the second sentence or have I misunderstood you somehow? frosen Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Yes, the B-scope has never really made any sense to me. Maybe it's just ignorance, I don't know. Furthermore, it doesn't seem to be able to adjust the brightness of the B-scope, is this a bug? i7-7700K @ 4.9 GHz | Gigabyte Aorus Geforce GTX 1080 Ti | 32 GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance @ 2400 MHz (2800 OC) | Asus Strix Z270E Gaming | Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD 1 TB | Samsung 960 EVO M.2 SSD 500 GB | WD NAS Red 2TB SATA3 | Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H80i v2 | Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog | Saitek PRO rudder pedals | Valve Index

frosen Posted September 5, 2018 Posted September 5, 2018 Same here! Actually, the glare in the cockpit is shifting but not the scope itself. ;) i7-7700K @ 4.9 GHz | Gigabyte Aorus Geforce GTX 1080 Ti | 32 GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance @ 2400 MHz (2800 OC) | Asus Strix Z270E Gaming | Samsung 970 EVO M.2 SSD 1 TB | Samsung 960 EVO M.2 SSD 500 GB | WD NAS Red 2TB SATA3 | Corsair Cooling Hydro Series H80i v2 | Thrustmaster Hotas Warthog | Saitek PRO rudder pedals | Valve Index
