The mortar troops are pretty good when they engage but I usually have to be getting shot at for them to fire. They have a huge range circle but i can't get them to engage unless some of the tubes have line of sight. Should I be dropping off a JTAC as well?

How is this related to the Huey?

I pick up mortar troops at the FARP in the Huey and bring them to the combat zone. I was asking how best to employ them from my Huey.

It should be possible to assign Mortar's the order "shoot at that point" combined with "start action" at as specific Time or FLAG in the ME. So they open fire regardless of any LOS to any enemy.

That works with other Arteleri as well, and is in fact, the way it should be. More a prevention mather then a direct targeting of a moving enemy.

Always happy landings ;)
