dburne Posted September 4, 2018 Posted September 4, 2018 (edited) Have been using my MCG Pro /Gunfighter Pro setup for a few weeks now and still loving it. I was wanting to be able to assign a button to the Paddle axis on my MCG Pro grip, to use with the F/A 18-C Hornet. I use my rudder pedals toe brakes for the Hornet, , and had that paddle that I wanted to assign something else to. (NWS). Anyway I went over to the VKB forums to post about what I wanted to do, but came across this post from earlier this year that pretty much explained exactly how to do what I wanted. http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=2868#p29042 Below is the excerpt from it: A much easier way of doing this is to use the 'AxesToButton' functionality. Go to axis 8, set it to Edges1, Zone 1, set it to a percentage point that you're comfortable with (ie 25% will press the button when you've pulled the brake lever three-quarters of the way, 0% will press the button only when the lever is pulled completely to the end of its travel), and set it to an unused button. Remember to click the checkbox in the top left to enable the AxesToButton content you customised. Et voila! You have a button! If you are really set on not using the analogue axis of the brake, you can go to the Logical Axes tab and hide the axis. Don't disable it, that will stop your button from working - just hide it from the HID. Tada! You now have a button that activates when you pull the brake, and no analogue axis to confuse your game. Please note after doing the above, you have to press the "Set" button to get it into the firmware. Now I have my Paddle on the MCG grip acting as both an axis, and a button press. Which comes in handy as I use the Paddle Axis in the Spitfire for brakes, and the paddle button now in the Hornet. You can also hide the axis to where it only reflects a button press also explained above. Thought I would pass the info along as might be also beneficial to others. Thermal Posted September 6, 2018 Posted September 6, 2018 You can also allocate two buttons inside the axis config - make it two stage lever :)
