Eldur Posted September 12, 2018 Posted September 12, 2018 When I checked my dcs.log because of issues I noticed this part quite at the top of it: 2018-09-12 21:44:06.668 INFO SOUND: Using driver: xaudio27 2018-09-12 21:44:06.694 INFO SOUND: Found 5 available audio device(s): 2018-09-12 21:44:06.694 INFO SOUND: 0: ID: "{0.0.0.00000000}.{0d91c6e2-9118-4d21-b38b-10f09ed8f011}", Name: "Lautsprecher (3- Creative SB X-Fi)" 2018-09-12 21:44:06.694 INFO SOUND: 1: ID: "{0.0.0.00000000}.{467b8c27-c496-4ef6-987d-e353aed64493}", Name: "Lautsprecher (2- VIA High Definition Audio)" 2018-09-12 21:44:06.694 INFO SOUND: 2: ID: "{0.0.0.00000000}.{855842e7-0998-4d5a-aacf-5fd1c48f4747}", Name: "SPDIF-Out (3- Creative SB X-Fi)" 2018-09-12 21:44:06.694 INFO SOUND: 3: ID: "{0.0.0.00000000}.{d446568d-c318-4535-bd79-d00243ec0c74}", Name: "SPDIF Interface (TX1) (2- VIA High Definition Audio)" 2018-09-12 21:44:06.694 INFO SOUND: 4: ID: "{0.0.0.00000000}.{e5d24e45-c90e-4df1-a1ba-96cd4b53e72e}", Name: "SPDIF Interface (TX0) (2- VIA High Definition Audio)" 2018-09-12 21:44:06.772 INFO SOUND: loaded 1308 sdefs from "sounds\sdef" This brought up one of the ideas I once had lots of years ago even for another sim. Since DCS is able to detect all the output devices, wouldn't it be great if it was able to use more than one of them at the same time? What I imagine is that all the sounds in the plane and environment are played through one device that has speakers connected to it, like a nice 5.1 system. And then, all the sounds that come right through the pilot's headphones should be played through another device that has a headset plugged, kinda simulating the real headset. I've been doing that literally for ages with comms (mainly TS), but I'd highly appreciate if I could also redirect the DCS comms, warning tones etc that are played through the helmet's headset IRL to be played through my headset as well.
tom_19d Posted September 13, 2018 Posted September 13, 2018 +1, I have wished on several occasions for such an ability. I would think the simpit crowd in particular could make great use of this.
