RightStuff Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 By accident I activated the gear handle at a speed >500kts. I expected that the gear would immediatley be ripped off - but it didn't. Furthermore: I could land as if nothing had happend. OK, the doors of the gear bay were lost, but no other damage was visible. Afterwards I made some tests with a dive from 30.000 ft to get max. speed and activated then the gear handle: The nose gear extended without any problems. Only the main gears stuck a little until speed was ~300-400kts. Then they were fully out and I landed again without any problems. As NATOPS says: "drop gear at a speed <250kts" I'd call this observation kinda odd and though ask for a review of the damage model of the gear.
Revelation Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 FYI, if they are not already aware of this issue ED will most likely request a trackfile so it can help them figure out what is going on. Win 10 Pro 64Bit | 49" UWHD AOC 5120x1440p | AMD 5900x | 64Gb DDR4 | RX 6900XT
RightStuff Posted September 26, 2018 Author Posted September 26, 2018 It's no magic to reproduce this issue, but if they insist on uploading a trackfile - they'll get it. Any way: Maybe some "me too" observations will help here as well.
probad Posted September 26, 2018 Posted September 26, 2018 Maybe some "me too" observations will help here as well. what do you want me to say, "i too make assumptions about things i know nothing about"?? natops simply say to drop gear below 250kts. everything else is your imagined physics.
