Arbitrator Posted May 29, 2007 Posted May 29, 2007 i have been leave lofc for about a year now and just got back to it. i went over 90 pages of the f-15 release thread, but still couldnt figure out how to solve the problem with the albino pilot issue and the missing texture on the rear inner part of the engine just like some of the people here had. and i downloaded the meint from walmis, and did numerous uninstall/reinstall the addon, i installed everything from walmis's sig, still cant solve the problem with these issues. also when i tried to run the updater, it said unknown connection error. i saw that thread has been dead for 2 weeks now, so i decided to start a new one to have some quick helps for the problem. plz help and thank you very much! hitman Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 This is what I did...I uninstalled everything and deleted everything that included LockOn folders and sub folders, and then reinstalled everything.
Kuky Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 Best thing is reinstall LockOn fresh.. then run the EXE to install Walmis model... don't worry about getting an error when trying to look for updates. After you've installed it just extract (to their respecive folders) file that come in zipped addon file. Both EXE and Update are in Walmis's signature. Arbitrator Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 thank you rattler, your solution solved the missing texture problem. however, there's another problem, my tanks and sidewinders are in the mid air. i remember have seen somebody had the same issue but right now just cant find it in the 90 pages thread. can anybody give me a quick reference to solve the hang in mid air ordinances problem? i know i can edit the meint file to fix the position, but is there a quicker and convenient way to fix this problem? thx a million! Kuky Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 There are 2 files in the zipped update you need to extract to .../world/shapes folder Like I said before just download the update file and unzip to respective folders. Arbitrator Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 i did install/extract everything into correspounding folders, but still no use :( [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Home address: 81°28W, 29°85N Don't try to Waste Your Bombs and Missiles BC They are More Expensive.
rattler Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 i did install/extract everything into correspounding folders, but still no use :( the new update should have fixed that problem. If it is not to much of a problem uninstall lockon and reinstall then do the Walmis thing. It should all work. Make sure you have the most recent update and you put them in the right folders. If there is a file there with the same name, rename it, just add old to the end. Some people copy it to another folder. I find it easier to rename it an leave it there. When I want to go back it is already there for me. take your time make sure everthing is put in proper folders. Cheers.
Arbitrator Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 ok, i sorta figured it out, when i uninstall the f-15 addon, it seems like the weapons under my wings are moving to the opposite direction of the f-15 with the addon installed, so i copied that meinit file and then reinstall the f-15 addon and replace the new meinit with the old meinit, then everything is in place. however, bc its the old meinit file, then the aim's under the fuselage arent alined :( i guess i just have to mess around with the meinit file. hitman Posted May 30, 2007 Posted May 30, 2007 You might be able to pm vvanks on how he solved this problem, he had the same issue a few weeks ago. Id post the link to his thread but for some reason I cant find it.
Arbitrator Posted May 30, 2007 Author Posted May 30, 2007 okay, problem solved! since uninstall/reinstall couldnt solve the problem, and i was too lazy to do a full lofc reinstall, so i just manually edited the meinit file with data copied from correct portions of the old meinit file. now everything looks fine, weapons and fuel tanks are in place under the wings, and the missiles under the fuselage are alined. thank you guys for all the supports!
