BuzzU Posted October 3, 2018 Posted October 3, 2018 After getting fed up with Virpil and VKB I went with another Hog. I bought it at Newegg and they offer a parts and labor 100% warranty for another $54. I normally don't bother with those but i'd rather deal with Newegg than TM if something goes wrong with it. I take it apart and smooth out the gimbal, use better grease, and replace the big black spring with a lighter green spring. I'll fix the AB detent and replace the ministick when the better ones are available again. I'll call that good and go fly. 2 Buzz

BuzzU Posted October 3, 2018 Author Posted October 3, 2018 (edited) Right here. He also sells red and blue springs which are made for using extensions. The green spring is for just the joystick and no extension. https://warthog-extensions-by-sahaj.com/product-category/springs/ Edited October 3, 2018 by BuzzU Buzz

Hello @BuzzU, Allow my curiosity, why were you fed up with Virpil and VKB at the time ? Because of their slow availability / order / delivery times ? The reason why I ask, is because I'm coming to terms that eventually I'll have to buy a Virpil base, or something that durable. As I'm begining to see that my 2 year old Thrustmaster Hotas Magnetic Base is showing its fragility : - so far it's just an internal rubber O-ring which got out of place and got dented; - but from what I've been reading here, eventually I might have gimbal sphere problems ... as supposedly they are not that much resilient to long term use. BuzzU Posted October 17, 2022 Author Posted October 17, 2022 I was fed up from them always being out of stock when I wanted to buy. Go ahead and buy the Virpil base. It's a big improvement over the Warthog. Buzz
Top Jockey Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 I've just received an email from them, and guess what, the 'acquisition proccess' still works the same fashion today. There's no stock; one does the order (pay) and will be placed in the order queue. The time they said, was 2 to 3 week from order placement to (this part wasn't clear) : - manufacture of the product ? - or deliver at my door ? Eitherway it is not an urgent buy, is more the wish of having a durable product ... no plastic gimbal spheres and the such. Steel Jaw Posted October 17, 2022 Posted October 17, 2022 Yes it is something of a sad joke with trying to acquire one. 1 "You see, IronHand is my thing" My specs: W10 Pro, I5/11600K o/c to 4800 @1.32v, 64 GB 3200 XML RAM, Red Dragon 7800XT/16GB, monitor: GIGABYTE M32QC 32" (31.5" Viewable) QHD 2560 x 1440 (2K) 165Hz.
