I am using buttons to zoom in/out (change FOV) - it is the zoom slowly in/out binding in the controls-menu. Now, I would like to zoom in/out at a faster rate. I know I did this before the merge, but can't remember how anymore - I also did not find any useful info in the forum threads, so I have to open a new one.

So far I have copied the view.lua in the ED folder over to the config\views\ folder in ...Saved Games and played around with those values:

CockpitHAngleAccelerateTimeMax

CockpitVAngleAccelerateTimeMax

CockpitZoomAccelerateTimeMax

but did not notice any change. Do I have to change them in the ED-Folder? But wouldn't that trigger the Anti-Cheat-Thing (IC)? Are those even the right settings for changing the Fov-Change-Rate?

Hi,

I believe you have to change this parameter of View.lua file from 300 to, say, 600.

CockpitKeyboardZoomAcceleration

Thanks, Chih-Wei - this helped!

In DCS I fly jets with thousands of pounds of thrust...

In real life I fly a humble Cessna Hawx XP II with 210 HP :D

I fly the sabre. And I could need some faster zoom in and out. Can I adjust that somewhere?

and can I still enjoy every server?

greetings

This will do it:

copy View.lua from

C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Config\View

paste into your Saved Games folder

C:\Users\Youname\Saved Games\DCS\Config\View

Then edit:

CockpitMouse = true --false
CockpitMouseSpeedSlow = 1.0
CockpitMouseSpeedNormal = 10.0
CockpitMouseSpeedFast = 20.0
CockpitKeyboardAccelerationSlow = 5.0
CockpitKeyboardAccelerationNormal = 30.0
CockpitKeyboardAccelerationFast = 80.0
CockpitKeyboardZoomAcceleration = 900.0
DisableSnapViewsSaving = false
UseDefaultSnapViews = true
CockpitPanStepHor = 45.0
CockpitPanStepVert = 30.0
CockpitNyMove = true

I’ve actually come across one server with this .lua overridden, I have no idea why. But in any case I don’t see this violating the IC since it’s in your Saved Games folder.

well I dont see any change after applying that.

edit: I think the view in the pause screen is now with faster zoom in and out but not when unpaused.

Just wanted to note that as of a year later, in 2.9.11, this fix continues to not work anymore except for in the pause screen.  Sure would be nice to get this as an adjustable parameter at some point!

The above .lua setting still works for me.

I have no .lua files in the views folder. I just have a bookmarks folder that contains other folders that are also empty.

I even checked my older versions of my saved games folder (I have three) and they were the same. Do we create the .lua and what do we call it?
