Geier Posted June 20, 2007 Posted June 20, 2007 I am very interested in going and youre plan sounds great. I have to hold of for a while until i learn some Russian. I should retain it fast because most people believe that. Hey IguanaKing i want to know more info just PM me! Visit Moscow)))) You'll get a chance to see the biggest russian aerospace museum in Monino http://www.monino.ru/ :)
darkstarRAF Posted June 22, 2007 Posted June 22, 2007 Raised_Dead, sorry to disappoint you, but as you are 21 years old already you have no chance to go into russian fly academy, as you have no russian citizenship and there's no chance to acquire one in one month. Academy requirements: you must be male (but as I hear there's chance for female too :) ), from 18 to 21 years old (no matter which academy, fly or sea, any military school here have same age requirements, according to what I've read in "Voenkomat" (military commission)). you must have russian citizenship you must have 11 years of school education (sorry, I don't know a thing about US education system, so no analogies). you must take examinations and take it successfully. and of course your health must be really-really good :) other then this there's no more additional requirements. With best regards, Albert R. Valiev ---- Oculus Rift S, i7-8700, RTX-2070, 32Gb RAM, M2 SSD (X4 PCI-E mode).

Heh, he should live in Russia for 5 years to get it...
Raised_Dead85 Posted June 23, 2007 Author Posted June 23, 2007 Although I don't have any official documentation on this, it is extremely unlikely (especially under the present Russian/US diplomatic situation) that the Russian Air Force would ever recruit an ex US marine. I doubt they have ever even recruited anyone except a born and bred Russian (or ex Soviet bloc) citizen. I'm generally just a reader of these forums but as someone who has a military background I feel obliged to say this - it's great to have dreams but they need to be grounded in reality, and the reality is that even as a fully fledged Russian citizen it's difficult enough to be accepted for pilot training. As an English speaking, American citizen with a background in the USMC? The chances are remote, to say the least. What about if i join the Russian military? How would they know what i did if i live in Russia for about 5 years and then join? I know i might sound crazy but thats what i want and ill do anything to get it! OH BTW Im not on planning living in the US for rest of my life soon i will move. Thats just a beginning! |Windows 8 64bit|I7-950| |X58Mobo| |1T HDD| |18gigs PC3-16000 TC 2000mhz||Nvidia GTX 660 Ti Graphics||Cougar HOTAS-CHPedals/TIR5ProClip|
Raised_Dead85 Posted June 23, 2007 Author Posted June 23, 2007 as you have no russian citizenship and there's no chance to acquire one in one month. Who said i want a citizenship in one month? Cmon I know what it takes to get a citizenship im not that ignorate. Anyways as far as your reply on Russian Academy, are you 100% sure? |Windows 8 64bit|I7-950| |X58Mobo| |1T HDD| |18gigs PC3-16000 TC 2000mhz||Nvidia GTX 660 Ti Graphics||Cougar HOTAS-CHPedals/TIR5ProClip|
hitman Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 IRR is closer to 8 years IIRC. I know they stuck me on that when I left. Geier Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 What about if i join the Russian military? How would they know what i did if i live in Russia for about 5 years and then join? As I've already said 5 years term is a condition of getting Russian citizenship. Only then you can enter the Flight academy. Good luck on your plans!:)
Raised_Dead85 Posted June 24, 2007 Author Posted June 24, 2007 Also, don't forget, 4 years isn't all you have to serve in the Marine Corps. You'll be on IRR for a further 4 years after you get your 214, and they're not going to let you drop your US citizenship while you're on IRR. I already know that and its perfect time for me in getting my extra education in college and during that time you never know my plans might change. |Windows 8 64bit|I7-950| |X58Mobo| |1T HDD| |18gigs PC3-16000 TC 2000mhz||Nvidia GTX 660 Ti Graphics||Cougar HOTAS-CHPedals/TIR5ProClip|

Raised_Dead85 Posted June 24, 2007 Author Posted June 24, 2007 IguanaKing i thought about joining the USAF but they said they cant take ex Marine because we are brainwashed babie killers! Raised_Dead85 Posted June 24, 2007 Author Posted June 24, 2007 No it wasnt recruiter but somebody that was in the airforce. He told me that they wont except marines because they are trained differently in many ways that the airforce cant accept for about at least 2 years until that what ever Corp done to my system! I cant really explain it but thats what they say. I cant waste time as it is. |Windows 8 64bit|I7-950| |X58Mobo| |1T HDD| |18gigs PC3-16000 TC 2000mhz||Nvidia GTX 660 Ti Graphics||Cougar HOTAS-CHPedals/TIR5ProClip|
Geier Posted June 24, 2007 Posted June 24, 2007 ...that the airforce cant accept for about at least 2 years until that what ever Corp done to my system! ... It sounds a bit strange....

Raised_Dead85 Posted June 24, 2007 Author Posted June 24, 2007 Yeah probably is. LOL its funny how all branches always make fun of each other in who is better! Marines are better of course:) but the thing is we all fight the same enemy! Anyways im done talking about this we will see how things go. What ever happens, happens! |Windows 8 64bit|I7-950| |X58Mobo| |1T HDD| |18gigs PC3-16000 TC 2000mhz||Nvidia GTX 660 Ti Graphics||Cougar HOTAS-CHPedals/TIR5ProClip|
Raised_Dead85 Posted June 24, 2007 Author Posted June 24, 2007 LOL well when i have my family anything i always got these ex Army guys always come up to me and brag how good they were and what they did. Im the only one in the whole family that is a Marine:) all rest are just plain Army! |Windows 8 64bit|I7-950| |X58Mobo| |1T HDD| |18gigs PC3-16000 TC 2000mhz||Nvidia GTX 660 Ti Graphics||Cougar HOTAS-CHPedals/TIR5ProClip|
Raised_Dead85 Posted June 24, 2007 Author Posted June 24, 2007 You should see one of our bus stops here in Iraq. You would be suprized the kind of things they say about each other. The General of Marine Corps only wants to use 7 month deployment and Army already set for new deployment time of 15 months which sucks for them. Anyways one of them from Army wrote "Marines cant handle the job for 7 months" and one of the Marines wrote "it takes 15 months for Army to complete the task"! Theres all sorts of crazy things they say. |Windows 8 64bit|I7-950| |X58Mobo| |1T HDD| |18gigs PC3-16000 TC 2000mhz||Nvidia GTX 660 Ti Graphics||Cougar HOTAS-CHPedals/TIR5ProClip|

Raised_Dead85 Posted June 25, 2007 Author Posted June 25, 2007 GRU and FSB is just like FBI in US. All i know about the GRU is its anti terror large group. They command the Spetznas special forces in against the terrorist situation! FSB is almost like that but a little bit different. |Windows 8 64bit|I7-950| |X58Mobo| |1T HDD| |18gigs PC3-16000 TC 2000mhz||Nvidia GTX 660 Ti Graphics||Cougar HOTAS-CHPedals/TIR5ProClip|

Yes, you are right about GRU) but FSB (Federal Agency of Security) also combats against spys and offenders commiting the most serious crimes.
