army198527 Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 First off love DCS! Had to get that out of the way. Next for my question. So i know the product you buy from DCS have a limited number of installs, some of them im down to 5 because i have had to rinstall windows plus 2 new computer upgrades over last 5 years. My question is, what happens when the installs hit 0? Do i have to rebuy all these products again because i own nearly everything. I asked this years ago but i can't refind the thread, i thought someone said when it hits zero you still own it but you cant reinstall it but once in a 30 day period? Thanks for the answers!
Rudel_chw Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 You could deactivate the products before re-installing, that way you dont lose activations until you run out of uninstalls (there are 10 uninstalls usually) For work: iMac mid-2010 of 27" - Core i7 870 - 6 GB DDR3 1333 MHz - ATI HD5670 - SSD 256 GB - HDD 2 TB - macOS High Sierra For Gaming: 34" Monitor - Ryzen 3600 - 32 GB DDR4 2400 - nVidia RTX2080 - SSD 1.25 TB - HDD 10 TB - Win10 Pro - TM HOTAS Cougar Mobile: iPad Pro 12.9" of 256 GB
army198527 Posted November 29, 2018 Author Posted November 29, 2018 O ok, gotta look into that, so once they run out i have to re purchase them all
WindyTX Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 No you will get one activation after 30 days if they run out. At least that is what the system used to be. Varis Posted November 29, 2018 Posted November 29, 2018 So that is why my old Kamov is like mint shape with 10 reactivations remaining or so. Maybe support got tired of tickets and e-mails. :smilewink: SA-342 Ka-50 Mi-8 AJS-37 F-18 M2000C AV-8B-N/A Mig-15bis CA --- How to learn DCS
army198527 Posted November 30, 2018 Author Posted November 30, 2018 See i screwed up, but in my defense lol, i had a mother board crash then a hard drive crash, then i sold one computer and deleted everything off but like a dummy i didn't remember deactivating them. I feel like an idiot there lol. As long as i dont have to repurchase them i am happy.
MikeMikeJuliet Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 I believe the activation amount is a limitation on the key-system as well as a measure to prevent tomfoolery with module licences between multiple PC's. Regards, MikeMikeJuliet DCS Finland | SF squadron
