this is all over the PG map, are there really no rivers due to heat?

Actually yes! Many rivers in that region do not flow into the sea. But doubt thats the cause. :D

 

I find the PG map to be a bit of a resource hog compared to say NTTR map try increasing preload radius etc and/or turning down some in game graphic settings like MSAA and PD.

cheers frag, ill try that, just tried the huey, no probs, it seems like its just the mi8 that gives me problems

I had water textures disappearing on PG map. It turned out my then heavily overclocked 980TI wasn't as stable as I thought. My new GPU arrived and normal service was resumed.

“Dry Washes” are quite common in the desert and many are significant enough to be included as landmarks. They exist in the NTTR map as well.
