Hi, New and Have Questions

Hi everyone, I am new to the LOMAC community. I just wanted to say hello and get some newbie pointers if that is cool.

 

I love the realism in this game, and I pretty much get the idea of flight controls and how to go about air to air combat with the radar being realistic. I only have a basic grasp though. I was wondering where I could go to learn all the terminology when in combat, and also about flying in formation.

 

I am wondering what avenue I would use best use to play online. Also if I could play online with some people that could help me out with stuff.

 

I know I am a newb, but I greatly appreciate the help.

Most of the multiplayer action happens either on hyperlobby or within virtual squads, which are also the best way to learn the ropes.

Thanks for the replies, well looks like I got some reading ahead of me the information will be very helpful :). Yeah I was wondering if there were any squadrons recruiting and a newb like me would be able to join on and get some training with them. I am really interested in this kinda stuff, because I actually want to be a pilot some day. I am in AF ROTC at the university I am at, and I am shooting for a pilot spot, and even though this is just a simulator it wouldn't hurt to become good at it.

169th recruit new players im pretty sure. I remember reading a post over at the ubi forums inviting new pilots to join their squad.

I did half a year in CAP ( Civil Air Patrol) if you know what im talking about. I got to rank airmen first class. If i did a full year, my recruiter said i couldve gotten PFC when i was in bootcamp USMC!

Oh yeah Civil Air Partrol, thats cool. Yeah they give you like 4 free flight hours in ROTC. How do you get involved in CAP anyways?

Well i had to move to a different school and that school had ROTC. Well one of students that went there invited me to a function and i went! After that i got interested and signed up. Had my uniforms ordered and all that good stuff. Football really got in the way and then my graduation of high school. I had to quit so i could enlist with my so called best friend into buddy system for Marines but he dint want to what because i had trouble going through MEPS because there was a Sargent there could not keep up with my paper work so i got deplayed 5 times all for something stupid little things i cant remember... its a sad story i know!
