arturojgt Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Hi everyone. I know this is a silly question but I need to find a way to see the laser beam from another harrier with TPOD targeting on the ground at night to deliver my unguided ammunition. I saw a video where a guy turn the NVG on and he showed the laser beam, I tried the same today but I can't (I can't find the video anymore so I don't know if I'm doing something wrong). Thank you all. Arturo "Chaco" Gonzalez Thomas

Mud Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 Hey arturojgt, I can't speak for the Harrier as I don't own that module, but in the A-10C you cannot see the laser beam. You can only see the IR beam with NVG's on. The TGP however can track a laser spot from another source. Frederf Posted December 18, 2018 Posted December 18, 2018 You cannot see the weapon designator laser in the normal or training wavelengths even with NVDs. The 990nm pointer (marker) wavelength should be visible with NVD. The emission mode of the TPOD should be able to be cycled through with OSB 4 on on the appropriate page, labels LASR, TRNL, MRKR.
arturojgt Posted December 18, 2018 Author Posted December 18, 2018 Set the Marker instead of laser Thank you. That is what I was looking for. Arturo "Chaco" Gonzalez Thomas

Nealius Posted December 21, 2018 Posted December 21, 2018 Quite a few updates ago I was able to see the target laser (not IR marker) from Predator drones at night with NVGs.....
