Skymarshall Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 Hey guys I’m new here been reading a lot about modding DCS. So, I followed the tutorials for JSGME which still gives me a stream read error when I’m trying to do the snapshot. Also, I put my mods in the selected folder “_MODS” but the mods don’t work. Specifically the KA-50 HUD translation to English. The cockpit is English but the cpu screen is still in a different language. The mods I downloaded are from Devrim. My question is what part of the file after extracted goes into the “_MODS” folder? The files inside the .zip contain a “Devrim KA-50” file and a “Stock” file. On the Devrim file I just drug it into the _MODS folder and activated it but nothing. Is there another part of the file I should be placing into the _MODS folder deeper inside this downloaded file? Thanks again in advance. I hope this kinda makes sense as I’m a little confused. Or if I don’t need to be using JSGME at all.
tmansteve Posted December 19, 2018 Posted December 19, 2018 It is always a good idea to use a mod manager. It enables you to uninstall mods without damaging the main structure of dcs. I always have my folder as Mods, then check the jsgme ini file for the correct path etc. When you download a mod, you should check the structure that it is in, just in case there was a mistake in packing ie too many folders. For your cockpits, you need a Liveries folder in saved games. Then you can add the cockpit there. Look at some of the posts concerning installing mods to give you an idea of the folder structure in saved games. If you are really stuck, give us a shout and will help get you on the way Cheers
Skymarshall Posted December 20, 2018 Author Posted December 20, 2018 Yeah I wouldn’t mind if someone would watch my screen share possibly this weekend on discord or something. So I can possibly get this working. Thanks for the reply!

Skymarshall Posted December 20, 2018 Author Posted December 20, 2018 Yeah I did select the cockpit options. The liveries were never the problem. It was the mod I was needing to make the cpu screen in the ka-50 English. The instructions says to install in mods folder. Well I used JSGME software and made a new mods folder. Placed the kid in the selected folder then selected the mod to be activated. Nothing.
thrustvector Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 just a thought, try OVGME instead and see if that works, but completely uninstall the other one first and its folders
Grimes Posted December 20, 2018 Posted December 20, 2018 Set avionics language in the options menu to use English instead of native. Thats how you get stuff like the ABRIS and HUD of the FC aircraft to be English. The right man in the wrong place makes all the difference in the world. Skymarshall Posted December 21, 2018 Author Posted December 21, 2018 Hello Grimes! Yea I set the option Cockpit to English but the computer screen to the front right is still in Russian I believe (not english). I've tried even installing manually to the game files replacing and overwriting the original files with no luck without using JSGME.
Skymarshall Posted December 21, 2018 Author Posted December 21, 2018 Ok Thrustvector I can try that. Thanks!
