If I place the M2 card in the M2 slot, She works but My 4 and/or 5 sata slot does not work.

No matter which slot I put the Lycom DT120 in, the EVO does not appear anywhere.

Right now I put the EVO back in the M2 slot and at least can use DCS as The 500 SSD

was not enough space with the F14 coming soon. I would appreciate any help

with fixing this problem or at least knowing it cant be done and I can return

the evo and lycom and buy a normal SSD from Samsung.

http://www.lycom.com.tw/DT-120.htm part that may not work

I bought a M2 slot Samsung EVO 1tb card and it disables slot 4 or 5 or only allows single use.... but I could not get it to work at first

and then I just put my 2 year old Win10 Pro dvd and installed directly to the 860 EVO SSD and it worked.

I then found many of My other 6 hard drives were not working. I recently purchased a Lycom DT-120M.2 card and put

the EVO into it and tried installing into the bottom and third slot up. Nothing is working.

I put the EVO back into the M2 slot and finally have my PC to at least use to get info.

Thanks for any help You can share with Me.

this is the info from lycom, and the very last line scares me that the Lycom card just wont work in my GAz97x gaming 7 ???

Ahhh, have you RTFM ??

From what I read between the lines, you run a Desktop Intel chipset, Z170/270/370/390 as they ALL suffer the same shortcomings you stumble over.

Yyou CANNOT run 2 x NVMe + more than 4 Sata drives. As soon as you enable the 2nd NVMe the PCIe lanes are used for the NVMe and are withdrawn from the Sata ports 5+6. It's in the manual, it should be clearly explained which options you have.

The same goes for this Add-In card. The 4 PCIe lanes must come from somewhere and you run against the same wall.

Give us your motherboard specs and we can go into details, but it is roughly hammered in stone what I said above.

As usual Bit is probably right on the mark. I suspected it would be something like that but without the mobo manual I was hesitant to say so.

Thank You all for answering so quickly, I appreciate it very much.

I will just return the Lycom DT102 and the 860 EVO and buy a regular SSD.

Then I can plug in all 6 hd's once again.

Happy Holidays and Merry Christmas !!!

Yep,

Quick look at the manual and it does use 4/5

https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-Z97X-Gaming-7-rev-10#support-manual

This older board only has 1 x M.2 PCIe connector and disables 4/5

As bit has said, you cannot get around or bypass the bandwidth using an adapter, something has to give.;)
