EscCtrl Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 Yeah I know it's not Lockon but I don't care :P Hate the fact that the cockpit isn't fully anti-aliased (the radio wires are twisted that's why they look un-AAed ¬_¬) and yes I know I have an external read-out but someone forgot to model HUDs in IL-2 what's up with that? :D Oh and the waves are going the wrong way because there is extreme long-shore-drift occuring (climate change ¬_¬), and the plane might not be a true sundowner but it was in my game. Yeah I feel I have to point out every little error I can before some smart arse shows up and tries to show me up. 1

Disso Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 I've never EVER seen the sun modeled, animated, and designed as well as it was in IL2 than in ANY game, ANY game. Even the next-gen FPS shooters which generally are the ones which make the graphical breakthroughs have yet to create such a realistically blinding and colored sun/glare. Oh yea, and with Pacific Fighters, the same goes for the water. Both this and the sun are almost photorealistic. SU-30MKI F/A-18F ...Beauty, grace, lethality.
sp0nge Posted July 1, 2007 Posted July 1, 2007 i must admit your right. It is definitely hard to look at-in as good-a-way as possible. Is breaking the laws of gravity illegal? [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]

You should try ArmA, the sun blinds you in that, everything goes dark as clouds pass in front of it. Also if you look through night vision then turn it off you have to wait for your eyes to adjust to the light before you can see. From what I've seen of cellfactor revolution it looks better than what you described of IL-2, pity it requires a physics card. If the effects are present in Crysis at the end of this year then it is likely to raise the standard, so even if you don't intend to buy it hope it looks good. Few mainstream gamers care for flight sim standards, so even when something is achieved in IL-2 5 years ago, it still isn't in games today.
