Something I hadn't noticed yet, Thanks ED!

Hi

I don't know when the option has been implemented but, changing the weather in one of my mission, I've just noticed tonight that the runways in use on some airfields are depending of the direction of the wind. It's something I'd asked lot of times in the wishlist and tonight, in the release, I've just noticed it's done. Thanks ED but tell me since how many times, this option is implemented ?

(I must confess that sometimes I don't read the changelogs very attentively)

I have noticed that on Mineraldye Voydie. Before and whatever the wind, it was only the 30 in use. Now with the wind in the other side, it's the 13. On Batumi nothing has changed but it's surely due to the geographics conditions ( mountain on one side, sea on other, it's surely must be the same in the real world, TO on 31 landing on 13).

This has been a feature for years.

Each airport has a default "preferred" runway when winds are calm. If the wind is set to create a tailwind greater than about 10 knots on this runway, the reciprocal runway will become active and even the ILS (if equipped) will switch ends.

There are some airports, such as Batumi which do not switch (as per the real world) because of high terrain.

Sounds great!

Are carriers going to have something similar by turning automatically towards the wind, when an aircraft is inbound for landing?

I would love to know if this is planned.

Batumi is an airport that I use the most in DCS, that's surely why I havn't noticed before. But what about McCarran ? I must try but I'm not sure.
