045 Posted January 8, 2019 Author Posted January 8, 2019 After testing in multiplayer, I can confirm that SRS in fact does NOT count as a broadcast for ADF. Darn that would have been perfect. Calling JTAC is probably the next best thing for a long broadcast to use to get direction on your wingman. Telling a flight member to do a recce is also relatively long if you forget to put a JTAC in mission. I also tried using triggers to do it, but transmit message is only available as an AI task set/push and obviously we are not AIs so it didn't work. On a related note, does anyone know when the F-18 got its datalink capability in real life? We've expanded on the mini-campaign set in '89 that came with so trying to compile what tech is contemporary. May the jet gods help us when the Soviets start using 27ERs and ETs and we don't yet have AMRAAMs.

Edit: Nvm, Link-16 was first introduced in the mid-90s, starting with the USN carrier battle groups... crazysundog Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 What aircraft are you flying when doing this? The Ka-50? F/A-18 Would imagine it works for all A/C tho I haven't tested.
QuiGon Posted January 8, 2019 Posted January 8, 2019 F/A-18 Would imagine it works for all A/C tho I haven't tested. Oh, that's nice to hear! So it does indeed seem to work with all aircraft  Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

That is good too know, thank you, but darn I guess we'll have to go without. Can you link where you found out from (if from the internet)? I like to keep a database of useful sites for campaign making.
Bravo Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 I believe the F/A-18s had Link-4 (TADIL) earlier.
QuiGon Posted January 9, 2019 Posted January 9, 2019 I believe the F/A-18s had Link-4 (TADIL) earlier. So the early Hornets could data link with F-14s?
