FZG_Immel Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 I have a ultra wide monitor. the default FOV for me is too zoomed on the HUD. I already fixed this for my flight. I put a curvature on my Warthog Axis so that when it is centered, I get a proper fov. My issue is when I want to replay tracks. the Default FOV is close at start. As soon as I manually change the FOV, it basically take over on the head movements, and thus, I cannot replay my tracks with my original head movements, such as for making videos. So Basically, what i'd need to do, is to have the proper FOV set, as soon as I enter the cockpit, witout touching the FOV axis. thanks for your time ! TechRoss Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Wouldn't you change that in the snapviews file? Not at home machine so can't remember the location. Use a tool like Everything and search for smapview*.lua

FZG_Immel Posted January 11, 2019 Author Posted January 11, 2019 will that modification of default FOV pass integrity checks on servers ? Rosly Posted November 27, 2023 Posted November 27, 2023 In case somebody still looks how to solve this, for F-16 you need to change this line tab.viewAngle = tab.viewAngle or 69 in \DCSWorld\Mods\aircraft\F-16C\Views.lua
Solution SharpeXB Posted November 29, 2023 Solution Posted November 29, 2023 When in the cockpit, go to the options and set the FOV slider to the value you want. Press Alt+Num0 “save cockpit view angles”. This will set the “normal” zoom level. You will want to have your head tracking turned off when doing this so as it will capture the exact view direction as well. Snap View Saving needs to be checked in the options as well. This function is currently broken in the 2.9 OB but works like it’s supposed to in 2.8 Stable. Whenever I run tracks they always capture my original head movement as long as I stay in the F1 view. Are you starting the replay in an external view? On 1/11/2019 at 10:17 AM, FZG_Immel said: will that modification of default FOV pass integrity checks on servers ? When you set the Normal zoom value, it creates an .lua file in your Saved Games directory. Files here will always pass the IC. i9-14900KS | ASUS ROG MAXIMUS Z790 HERO | 64GB DDR5 5600MHz | iCUE H150i Liquid CPU Cooler | ASUS TUF GeForce RTX 4090 OC | Windows 11 Home | 2TB Samsung 980 PRO NVMe | Corsair RM1000x | LG 48GQ900-B 4K OLED Monitor | CH Fighterstick | Ch Pro Throttle | CH Pro Pedals | TrackIR 5
