Here’s a question.

My understanding is that for say the A10C, that many of the internal systems are modelled, e.g. such that it’s possible to hydraulic failure due to combat damage, or just component failure, and that this will affect functionality of the aircraft, for which there’s typically a backup or procedure usually listed in the manual.

Does the F18 already have this level of modelling, and if not, will it?

7800x3d, 5080, 64GB, PCIE5 SSD - Oculus Pro - Moza (AB9), Virpil (Alpha, CM3, CM1 and CM2), WW (TOP and CP), TM (MFDs, Pendular Rudder), Tek Creations (F18 panel), Total Controls (Apache MFD), Jetseat

Good quesiton. I'm sure there's still things WIP. However if you open the mission editor, add an F/A-18C Lot20 and set to player, a failures tab becomes available. The list of failable items may not be exhaustive or complete yet, but you can see there are plenty of subsystems that have been at least partially covered.

Yes, there are many systems modelled already including damage models. Last night for example I was hit by a MANPAD. I got some cautions and felt the aircraft developing a tendency to roll left which was nearly impossible to trim out.

Only after a safe landing I noticed that my left elevator was completely gone!

I guess it's work in progress. I got hit by an Sa-2 and had no visible battle damage nor any master cautions or system degrades at all. I only realized that I got hit after reviewing the mission in Tacview.
