Gianky Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 Hi guys! I'm wondering, how does HoJ work? I know the theory behind it, what I want to know is what I actually have to do (if anything) to launch a missile using that guidance mode?
razorseal Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 I didn't know F18 had that already. I thought only the F15 did as far as HOJ, you need to figure out distance. Maybe use AWACS for it, but since there is no range data, you won't know if your missile will reach the target, or which way it's going (cold/hot/flank etc) which also determines distance.

Gianky Posted February 21, 2019 Author Posted February 21, 2019 yup. that Ok, thanks guys! I thought it was implemented because in the Caucasus Sparrow instant action mission the briefing tells the player to try both FLOOD and HOJ modes. Guess that's just a typo.
razorseal Posted February 21, 2019 Posted February 21, 2019 It's useless in DCS anyway. You'll never hit any non-complying target with HOJ. I think it's possible. before break through.... you're up high at 25-35k, and a mig 21 flying at 1K with it's old jammer...
