Sale has ended again. I did receive an email just now saying they were out of stock when I had placed my order, but looks like they are still honoring it and will ship when they have them in stock again.

Good to hear you snagged that deal, again!

I literally just hung up the phone with Abt when I read your post. When I placed my order it immediately got flagged by my credit card company, which I promptly approved. My wife said she saw a pending transaction from them, but then it disappeared (no charge, either), so I got worried. The CSR said everything looks okay and it'll be shipping directly from Thrustmaster, with an estimated delivery of Thursday-Saturday. :)

Hmmm, you’re going to have to expedite that computer build you’re working on!

No kidding. Half the build is coming this week. Gotta order the important stuff still. CPU, mobo, AIO, GPU. Been watching price drops like a hawk on PCPartpicker hoping I can shave a few bucks here and there.

Downside of ordering the HOTAS now is, like you said, I need my rudder pedals now, too.

Wow, great deal indeed! It made me do some thinking for sure...

However, I have been contemplating an upgrade to the Warthog from my X-55 but I have ultimately decided not to. I will be flying the Tomcat and have mixed feelings about using a HOTAS modeled specifically for a single aircraft. Also, the Warthog has been out for a long time and I would feel more comfortable with an investment like that on something newer, so I am waiting to see what Thrustmaster's next release is...whenever that may be.

Congrats for those who got a great deal though!

The Warthog stick replicates the F-16 and A-10C stick grips, but it can fill in for the majority of aircraft grips since it generally has more switches/hats/buttons than most aircraft. The only time it really falls short is when replicating stick grips with analog brake axis levers such as most Russian planes and the Spitfire has. Overall, I was very happy with the Warthog stick except for the "feel". My first one suffered from "sticktion" and that amplified the horribly engineered transition near the center. A stick extension did a lot to overcome the feel and exploit the 14-bit precision. If I had not succeeded in ordering a VKB MCG Pro, I would still be using the Warthog. For $400 or less, the Warthog HOTAS set cannot be beat. The MCG Pro stick cost more than the Warthog stick and throttle sold together. I love the throttle, too.

On the other hand, if you can afford an MCG Pro and succeed in ordering one given that VKB is always out of stock of nearly all of their products, I highly recommend it since it has everything the Warthog has and more in terms of buttons and axes and has the best "feel" of any stick I have ever used. Smooth as precise. It isn't as heavy nor does it feel as sturdy as a Warthog stick, but it is absolutely better in every other way.
