TorwaK Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Yes I know we're going to get 6DOF support by Black Shark but I'm curious about that is it hard to add 6DOF support to Lock-On with a patch too? In my opinion I would like to get it very much. Cheers. VMFA117_Poko Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 For FC you mean? Impossible. Cockpits here are not fullu 3d.
TorwaK Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 Sorry me I wanted to say FC of course. So I asked here is there possibility to make cockipts fully 3d by patch or something like that? I don't know just it can be so good. VMFA117_Poko Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Oh, rebuilding the pits... hmmm. I don't believe this could be made by some third-party modder. It lays in ED good will so you know how it is.
TorwaK Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 After played Flight Simulator X which is 6DOF supported, I wish to get same feelings by Flaming Cliffs too. Btw I know ED is working hard and everybody ask something from them so maybe they dot down my request too. :P 1 [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel Core i7-6700K, @5GHz | Asus Maximus Hero VIII | 2 x eVGA GTX 970 SLI | Kingston Predator 16GB DDR4-3000Mhz | 2 x Samsung 850 PRO 240GB RAID-0 | AOC G2460PG G-SYNC LCD | OCULUS RIFT CV1 VR | THRUSTMASTER HOTAS WARTHOG | CH PRO PEDALS
mcnab Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Well, if you want a 6DOF cockpit, why don't you build one by yourself?:joystick:
TorwaK Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 if somebody teach me why not? AndyHill Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 Well, if you want a 6DOF cockpit, why don't you build one by yourself?:joystick: Is it possible to create 3rd party cockpits? That would be great, one cockpit is worth four dozen high-poly tanks. ______________________________________________________________ Lock on MUST have a dynamic campaign system with multiplayer support AND toe-brakes on an axis My blog full of incoherent ramblings on random subjects: https://anttiilomaki.wordpress.com/
TorwaK Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 Maybe not formal but people made Falcon 4 AF with 6DOF supported which is made almost 10 years ago. So I don't think that it'll be hard to make for Lock-On, just need a brave volunteer who can handle it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y5k1QL2LO1M [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Intel Core i7-6700K, @5GHz | Asus Maximus Hero VIII | 2 x eVGA GTX 970 SLI | Kingston Predator 16GB DDR4-3000Mhz | 2 x Samsung 850 PRO 240GB RAID-0 | AOC G2460PG G-SYNC LCD | OCULUS RIFT CV1 VR | THRUSTMASTER HOTAS WARTHOG | CH PRO PEDALS
GGTharos Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 No, it is not easy to make, and it is not very likely to happen. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
TorwaK Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 GGTharos I know a person who can draw 3D cockpit, but where can I get 6DOF techical documents for it? From natural point or ED for Lock-On? Thanks. GGTharos Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 You can't. The source code isn't open for editing by anyone outside ED's developers. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Reminder: SAM = Speed Bump :D I used to play flight sims like you, but then I took a slammer to the knee - Yoda
TorwaK Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 Ok I see, but I don't understand how this person made Falcon 4.0 with 6DOF supported? I'm sure nobody gave him source of the game. Prophet Posted July 31, 2007 Posted July 31, 2007 The source of F4.0 has been available for YEARS now. Shortly after 1.08 and the Microprose meltdown.
TorwaK Posted July 31, 2007 Author Posted July 31, 2007 I understand. Thank you for information. It lays in ED good will so you know how it is. I understood it was technically possible to create new cockpit 3D models? There was some discussion about using the arguments setup to move needles and so forth . . . . and having to work out what each argument controlled from scratch. So if you could do it, it would certainly be rather time-consuming . . . http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v121/britgliderpilot/BS2Britgliderpilot-1.jpg
