I've been trying to integrate the TPOD into my tactics but I am constantly having issues with the sensors going absolutely stupid on me.

1. Waypoint DESG as target

2. Slew TPOD over to waypoint diamond, sort targets

3. Go low for ingress, pop up 11nm from the target

4. Uncage IRMAVs. Sensor Select up to box IRMAV. Confirm IRMAV sees same target as TPOD

5. 7-8nm, target in the middle of nowhere with no other IR sources, IRMAV refuses to lock

6. Abort for second pass.

7. TPOD suddenly locks on a mountain next to my jet with no input from me.

8. Give up on the TPOD, Sensor Select left to display EHSD, rebox DESG.

9. Go in manually with IRMAVs on the target waypoint. Uncage, Sensor Select up, lock and fire at 6-7nm in 3 seconds (as opposed to the cockup in #5).

Is anyone else having this many problems with the Harrier's sensors?

That seems like a whole can of worms to dissect.

I don't usually use the Tpod so...

7-8nm seems too long for IRmavs to lock thought. Usually I see locks ~5nm or less.

If I use the TPOD to sort targets, then treat the Harrier like an airliner and fly straight in, I can get IRMAV locks up to 8-9nm in a desert area. I also don't have this kind of issue. Of course flying like an airliner gets you shot down, so...

As soon as I do any maneuvering things go to shite.

Flying like an airliner tho is what you are supposed to do while using the TPOD. Going up and down, maybe even some wild manouvering low level, your TPOD hits all kind of stops and at one point may simply quit trying to keep up.

Yup... Airliner(ish) profiles when doing most ground attack (save for guns/rockets). You can't really expect to be doing a ton of hard maneuvering and using either the TPOD or DMT very well.

Yes, that happened to me too. I don’t know what to said, I saw so many weird stuff flying the harrier, at this point I’m thinking to grab again the f-18 (TPod is coming) and leave the other girl in the hangar but flying this chick feels so great...

I don’t know what to said, I’m hopping for a fix for this a little forgotten but awesome module.

I've had the IRMAV's refuse to lock before. Never seen the TPOD randomly lock stuff, but I don't use it much.

I saw that problem too some times, 3 miles and no lock.

I did some multiplayer yesterday and rarely had issues with the TPOD and IRMAVs. This is a weird gremlin.

The time my TPOD randomly locked onto a mountside, it behaved as if I had hit the TOO button on the UFC. Except I didn't. My hand wasn't even on my mouse.

I'd see this every now and again doing low level stuff. I just came out of HTS mode and that seemed to have fixed it for me. I just assumed I had slewed the TPOD at some point when the target was behind terrain and it locked what it could see. I never looked at it like a bug though. So there may be more to it.

Have also seen similar. Would take hours and hours of testing time that I don't have to donate to RAZBAM to really figure it out. I have no idea how it should work but after some fooling with this I think maybe if you use DMT to initially lock on the target area (DESG) then when you turn away and the DMT loses sight of the target the TPOD gets confused and goes "stupid". If I lock on the target initially by just slewing the TPOD to the waypoint indicator manually then maybe no problems??

Also IRMV won't lock for me at all unless I push TDC action/down?

If you are using TPOD, turn off the DMT. Ze plane is getting confused.

If the TPOD is STBY and DMT is on, go to the opposite screen and hit STORE. The TPOD feed switches to DMT feed. If the target is designated the DMT will slew to it and you'll get video or locked gimbal with a black screen.

As far as I know, this is standard with a RAZBAM Harrier.
