MAXsenna Posted December 14, 2024 Posted December 14, 2024 Shame, it is not available in the UK and the least expensive option is more than £45. Also I need to find how to mount it to TPR.There are other options/vendors it seems. They are about the same. Think you can get it down to 30 quids or so, + shipping i guess.Mounting kits for the TPR should be somewhere. Of course my Slaws were designed for this option from the get go. I'll definitely convert them to FFB down the line. Sent from my SM-A536B using Tapatalk 1

I might just put it on, because I mostly fly F-16... and helos is where the sticktion force is most annoying. .... until my own force generator driven rudder comes online. I am planning to start writing the RPi Pico based USB controller firmware this holiday season.... maybe... Edited December 15, 2024 by Hempstead 1 1

The mounting is easy if you use the Airtac F-MF25SDB and the hardware linked in my post. The fake Matris MB2901x damper that I used has some stiction as well, although it's not too bad if you spend some time fiddling with the resistance knob. I'd like to find a better one for fine rudder adjustments, but we're definitely not the target audience for any of these motorcycle dampers. For fixed wing aircraft, I would leave springs in place, but for rotor wing or a combination of the two, the damper mod is preferred. 1 1 Warthog HOTAS, VMAX Prime Throttle, TPR pedals, Kensington Slimblade Pro, Pimax Crystal, RTX 4090 FE, Asus ProArt X670E-Creator, Ryzen 7950X3D, 64gb DDR5.
VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants Posted December 15, 2024 Posted December 15, 2024 More noob question. Is there any spec for the damper itself? Or is this good enough? https://amzn.eu/d/47dO2BG I Fly, Therefore I Am. One cannot go around not saying "Thank you" every time these days, can't you? The Airtac base is ideal for this purpose, but be aware that it took 52 days to arrive at my USA home from China, so plan ahead if you go this route. I haven't added thread locker compound yet, but that's probably a good idea on the top joint. Parts list: Damper, labeled as Matris MB2901x, but it's not a real Matris product. Available for around $48 on Amazon by several third-party sellers. Airtac F-MF25SDB pneumatic air cylinder mounting base, available for around $8 shipped on Aliexpress by the Airtac Pneumatic Store (2) 1/4" x 1/2" bolts (2) 1/4" nuts (4) 1/4 washers M5 x 60mm machine screw (50mm will barely clear if paired with 3/16" nylon spacer) #10 nylon spacer 1/2" length, 1/2" OD #10 aluminum sleeve 1/2" length, 5/16" OD M5 nut (4) M5 washers I bought most of the parts I need but went with everything black and a different damper. I can see where you used most of the parts except one. Where did you use the #10 aluminum sleeve?

Here's a photo. I had to replace that listed dampers after it failed, this 351mm dual tube damper, so far, seems superior. It's a cheaper one so it will likely fail at some point. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806677578333.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.order_list_main.11.36f11802M8vYq7&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa 1
