sbower Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 I've moved m DCS World Open Beta and Saved Games to a new SSD drive (D), and changed the shortcut path. I also updated the registry for Open Beta to point to this new location. The app starts up fine and I'm able to play but for some reason it creates a DCS.openbeta folder with all of the typical files in my C:\User\Saved Games\ instead of the D:/Saved Game folder. How can I run DCS solely off of an external drive?
tintifaxl Posted March 1, 2019 Posted March 1, 2019 You need create a symbolic link C:\User\XXX\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta pointing to D:\Saved Game\DCS.openbeta. Read this about creating symlinks in Windows: https://www.howtogeek.com/howto/16226/complete-guide-to-symbolic-links-symlinks-on-windows-or-linux/ Windows 10 64bit, Intel i9-9900@5Ghz, 32 Gig RAM, MSI RTX 3080 TI, 2 TB SSD, 43" 2160p@1440p monitor.
