So far there's no F-35 blueprints in my collection, its a bit rare right now. You can say you can find some on the internet BUT, it is the design for the X-35. The F-35 has a slightly different shape, so for now, i guess you are out of luck. You were planning to build a F-35 model?

What about you try asking?

If you get someone friendly they might hand you some unclassified 3 side views. Maybe even a publicity brochure or a poster. Just state it is 3D modeling for gaming purposes. Make sure you can provide references to justify this use.

Also, I found this nice iso model from which you can work out cross sections :

There's a pretty big difference between the X-35 and the F-35, especially around the nose area

This is the X-35

And this is the F-35

And yes there are 3 versions of the F-35, one for 3 different branches of the military

Personally, if you are an experienced modeler, i do not recommend building a X-35 or F-35 model since it wouldn't exactly fit in with the lock on "time area." Of course there's no exact time specified but the F-35 is a bit out there, same with any modern planes like F-22, eurofighter...etc. If you want to build something, i recommend reworking one of the current models in lock on, especially our main flyables. Those planes badly needs to be reworked- like our western fighters.

I agree with you about the era of fighters..

But i we (Turkey) are gonna have that jet..

and for sentimental :) reasons i NEED to see that craft fly'n out there :)

When i finish this i will work on su-27 i guess

anyway...

thanks for the great info so far..

Do you know how many polygons ED's standart models have by plane?..

There is a detail vs FPS trade you as you know..

they said around 50,000 poly is a good balance between high quality models and fps, that's how much the Su-25T is at. However, since you are not submitting this to ED, you can create whatever poly you want. Some of main flyables in lock on are probably no more than 30,000 poly.

I used to detest this aircraft.... It's grown on me soo much that I'm starting to love it. It just looks like a tough little bastard to me:thumbup:

Unfortunately no1 can edit the flight model, so even if he did make the F-35B model (its model btw, not skin) he wouldn't be able to make it take off vertically since you are replacing a model of a current plane like an F-15. Unless you replace the model of a helo, then it can take off vertically, but then it will fly really slow horizontally ;)
