Baco Posted March 7, 2019 Posted March 7, 2019 Has anyone thought of "expanding" current maps, but instead of making a massive map, just compartmentalize detailed areas, to make it more PC friendly. What I mean is: On the Caucasus map that we have now. instead of adding Crimea and killing any system that might try to run it, would it be possible to Make Crimea a detailed area, while having Georgia as low ress. Its still the same map but with emphasis on a new "area". So the map size and RAM usage remains the same, and you have a new area to explore and use in a campaign. AND a lot more space for campaigns and tactical missions...since there is a continuity to it Same could be done with PG. just move the detailed area North and leave the south low res.. etc... I know it will not speed up things dramatically, since the bulk of the work is the manually added objects and detail, But at least is not a whole new map... Or is the land mass generation a negligible part of the map creating process?
Silver_Dragon Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 ED has no plans to expand Caucasus, and actually Crimea has a "little" problem (political).
