Hi all,

First time I write here.

I am looking to update my X52 Pro joystick with something newer and maybe better built. I searched here on the forums but I am more confused than before.

What I am looking for Is a good Hotas joystick that can be used for multiple modules (FA18, F14, A10 and also some older toys like the Bf109) but that can be used for civil simulators (P3D/XP11) also.

I have seen the X-56 Rhino but the reviews are not so positive about durability.

Then I have seen the Warthog but I don't know if I can use it on more modules and also on civil sim.

I have looked also at VKB and Viril but they seem to me way more professional than what I need and it seems that they sell only the stick and not the throttle.

If someone can help me I would be grateful

Thanks for your help in advance

Francesco

Thank for your answer,

Does It come with a programmable software like saitek/logitech ones?

Can someone tell me how is it working in other sims too?

Yes it comes with the TARGET software for programming, a keypress emulator. I will tell you back when I was using the Warthog I got away from using the software and just found it easier to assign buttons directly in the game. At least DCS has a great joystick assignment GUI.

The more "universal" setup that you can buy* actually is:

VKB Kosmosima grip + Gunfigther base

VPC throttle

Good amount of axes, rotaries, lever, encoders, switches, press buttons, HAT's (analog/digital) without much compromise in "be replica" of this or that "badass" fighter. :joystick:

Since their are from different manufacturers, can "program" (keyboard emulation) with Joystick Gremlin.

* Be buy = have luck in be able to fill an order when they are momentary available, in that "planet alignment". :D

And will cost more than Warthog H.O.T.A.S. - but specially VKB base mechanics justify the major price.

Anyway consider in Warthog price + ~60 Euros for "slew" upgrade and ~$15/20 of Nyogel damper grease for address they major flaws.

I have looked at VKB but from what I understood (and what you said) the time frame involved with these products is too long. Unluckly because they look fantastic.

What interest me is the last part of your message? Are those mod needed?

Not needed, but they make it better. The stock slew controller is very imprecise, but not really worse than the nipple controller on the X52. The upgrade replaces it with a gamepad type ministick.

VPC throttle doesn't have analog slew controller at all, just several HATs.

Hardware: VPForce Rhino, FSSB R3 Ultra, Virpil WarBRD, Hotas Warthog, Winwing F15EX, Slaw Rudder, GVL224 Trio Throttle, Thrustmaster MFDs, Saitek Trim wheel, Trackir 5, Quest Pro

I just bought a Warthog 2 days ago and it's the best thing I did - AMAZING and very easy to use without rudder pedals/twist axis. Buy one, you won't regret it :-)
