Firstly, how to let jester to laser a target with lantern? I can’t use any gbu right now...

Second, when landing, how to trim this aircraft? The E bracket is afftected by both dlc and throttle. It is quite a headache to adjust three things in the same time.

Finally, in some scenarios I broke her wings. How does it happen and how to avoid this?

Thank you so much! Cheers!:joystick:

Not implemented yet... It is early access after all.

Set speed and AOA without DLC early. E-bracket indicates on speed, then use DLC in the groove to adjust your decent. Ignore E-bracket when using DLC. Fokus on the ball.

Too much G. Don't pull so hard. Structural limit is somewhere at 6.5 G, IIRC...

Thank you so much! I thought it was implemented since there is a mission loading with gbu!

To expand on that, you should know that the simulated fly-by-wire F-18 Flight Control System (if that's what you're used to) literally prevents you from over-G'ing the aircraft (in most circumstances), similar to how it works in the real F-18. You can throw your home cockpit joystick to its bumper stops and the (simulated) F-18 FCS will prevent the flight controls from actuating far enough to cause damage to the airframe.

The F-14 doesn't have a computer between you and the control surfaces. It's all hydraulics, bell cranks and cables. As felt at your joystick, DCS can't simulate increasing load on those surfaces, or the physiological effects of G on your person. That means you can yank your stick full aft and break the wings with ease in the simulator.

On non fly-by-wire aircraft in DCS, such as the F-14, you have to monitor the G-meter to prevent damage to systems, avionics and the airframe. It seems Heatblur has simulated this to a greater degree than we're used to. (A good thing, imo.)

That's the trouble of learning an aircraft that hasn't been around for 10 years. The forum isn't already full of these little Q&As.

I'll add a few instead of making a new thread:

What does the pilot have to select for Collision steering to display?

Which check is supposed to set the RIO's fuel quantity indicator to 2000lbs?

What's the procedure for the RIO's "Lights check" in the startup procedure?

Are the BITs in the CAP modeled? (even if they always show no errors, do they at least pretend to run)

Does AutoBIT2 work, and what symbology should I look for in the TID to confirm it's done?

Do I have to wait for ABIT2 to complete before starting alignment?

When using stored heading alignment, do I have to enter Magnetic Variation?

What does one have to do to get the TCS to lock on the ground?

That's all I can remember now. I'll come back when I have more.

You can switch to the RIO seat and operate the LANTIRN pod yourself, though. Did not try yet, but with autopilot circling (bank and altitude hold), it should be possible to switch back and forth.

Need to try that.
