Donut Posted March 19, 2019 Posted March 19, 2019 (edited) I noticed that removing the weapon rails for the AIM-54 on stations 4 and 5 did not change the weight. They were removed from the aircraft when looking at the exterior view but the aircraft weight stayed the same as it was with them attached. Eldur Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 I guess at the moment it's just optical, just like in the Hornet. Did you check if the weight of the missiles include the weight of the rails? Check with the table here. Haven't done this myself yet, but I noticed that as well.
Cobra847 Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 The FM does take into account these, but the way they're applied to the aircraft means their weight won't show up properly. Nicholas Dackard Founder & Lead Artist Heatblur Simulations https://www.facebook.com/heatblur/
Baz000 Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 can't add the pylons back on after taking them off when loading AIM-54 tho

Thanks for the quick reply Cobra! If the weight difference does not show up in the ME, how do we go about calculating max trap weights? i5 7600K @4.8GHz | 1080 Ti | 32GB 3200MHz | SSD | DCS SETTINGS | "COCKPIT"
Eldur Posted March 20, 2019 Posted March 20, 2019 Good to know the FM is adapted to the change. BTW there's one issue left on ED's side though. When they introduced that feature with the 18, there were big Xes in the boxes where you selected "remove pylon". That's been gone for a while now... hard to tell how it's set up like that since there is no difference between "no pylons" and "empty pylons" anymore on the arming screen.
