-Painter- Posted March 23, 2019 Posted March 23, 2019 (edited) Not sure if the module itself can do anything about it, but: Yesterday several clients did not see the mounted targeting pod on other clients planes. Even the RIO in that plane, but he was able to use the pod nevertheless. One client RIO was completely de-synched to several items in his plane. -Painter- Posted April 2, 2019 Author Posted April 2, 2019 Tomcat spawns with wings swept on the carrier, which is correct and fine. Problem: Wingsweep is desynched for other clients (always? sometimes?) and causes damages to the other aircraft at the spot next to you. That causes a lot of trouble when you try to get a multiship-flight spawned on the carrier. Regards REAPER 31 | Painter [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Flappie Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Look for possible ping issues through cmd I did encounter these multiplayer issues not so long ago, as a RIO and as the host (invisible lantirn pod + wings seen in wrong positions + huge aircraft translations while parked on a carrier which could lead to explosions) and I think I got all of them fixed. Back then, my computer had a huge ping issue that just couldn't be seen in the ingame score board, though it was quite simple to see in Windows. The "ping -t 8.8.8.8" command was showing a very long ping time every 10 seconds (say, 9 times 4ms annd 1 time 1500 ms). I eventually found the culprit: the Quantum GIS software that I use to draw the CombatFlite Caucasus map. As soon as I closed it, the ping issue was gone. Interestingly enough, I was already using it in the background way before the F-14 came out, but all the other DCS modules weren't as network-greedy as the Cat. :music_whistling: I guess no one is using this particular QGIS software in your squad, but I suggest you guys go for the "ping -t 8.8.8.8" for a minute or two, and fix a potential ping issue. ---
-Painter- Posted April 3, 2019 Author Posted April 3, 2019 (edited) Confirm: you have not seen those issues after you closed that software (Quantum GIS)? We run the mission on a off-location dedicated server. Edited April 3, 2019 by -Painter- Regards REAPER 31 | Painter [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
Flappie Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 If you all encounter the same de-sync issues, it might come from the dedicated server. Try running the "ping -t 8.8.8.8" command from the dediacted server, then. I have an MP session planned for tonight. I will be watching for de-sync issues, then I'll get back to you. ---
Flappie Posted April 5, 2019 Posted April 5, 2019 Confirmed: as soon as I close QGIS while playing, I don't have these issues anymore in MP and as RIO (I see the LANTIRN pod, the wings sweep is OK, and the aircraft doesn't hit others while on the carrier). Check for a network (or maybe CPU occupation?) issue on your dedicated server. ---
