9echo Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 Hi all, Hoping some of you might help me with this problem. I am trying to assign the toe brakes to the pedals I am using for DCS. I assign the axes as should be, I invert the axes as the forum states I have to, but regardless I have this issue where pressing right toe brake does nothing other than doing pitch up on the controls, and pressing left toe brake does nothing other than rolling the plane to the left. The rudder axis works fine. I had this problem using Thrustmaster pedals, I had it using Saitek/Logitech pedals and I now have the same issue using MFG Crosswind pedals, so it has nothing to do with the pedals themselves. I have calibrated the MFGs in the MFG software, and verified they show a value of zero when not pressed and a value of 4096 when pressed fully, so they are properly calibrated. I have attached the tracks for when I do no inputs, when I do right brake input and when I do left brake input. What is also weird is when I load up a flight, by default the ailerons is in a roll-left position. I just can't figure out what the issue is. There are no double bindings etc. I am desperate for help!Starting inputs.trkRight wheel brake input.trkLeft wheel brake input.trk SYSTEM: Mainboard MSI B360M Bazooka | CPU i7 8700k @ 3.2 GHz | RAM 2x8GB GDDR4 @ 2400 MHz | GPU Gainward GeForce RTX 2070 Dual Fan | 256GB SSD | Win 10 x64 DEVICES: MSI Optix 24" LED Curved | Thrustmaster Warthog | MFG Crosswind | TableMount MonsterTech MODULES: A-10C | F-14 | F/A-18C | Spitfire | P-51D
hansangb Posted March 28, 2019 Posted March 28, 2019 First thing to rule out is that your brakes/rudders are not incorrectly assigned to other controls. So scroll left and right and make sure it's only assigned to rudder/brake controls It's a pretty common DCS thing. hsb HW Spec in Spoiler --- i7-10700K Direct-To-Die/OC'ed to 5.1GHz, MSI Z490 MB, 32GB DDR4 3200MHz, EVGA 2080 Ti FTW3, NVMe+SSD, Win 10 x64 Pro, MFG, Warthog, TM MFDs, Komodo Huey set, Rverbe G1
LeCuvier Posted March 29, 2019 Posted March 29, 2019 The problem is caused by default assignments that kick in whenever you add a new game controller. JOY_Y and JOY_X are systematically assigned to pitch and roll. Also, the POV hat switches are systematically assigned to the view commands which is a real nuisance if you use a head tracker. ED probably programmed it this way to help people getting started. But as so often in life, trying to do good results in more problems than good. I have removed these default assignments for some of my aircrafts because I was so fed up. 9echo Posted April 9, 2019 Author Posted April 9, 2019 Hi all, Thanks for the help and advice, really appreciate it! Your inputs plus comments in this thread (FULL LEFT RUDDER when entering A-10C + more) made me check both the Game and Real profile and axes for double bindings as well ss the General profile. I wiped all doubles and it solved the problem! Again, thanks so much for the help!
